MacStadium Achieves SOC 3 Security Compliance

MacStadium, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud solutions for Apple Mac infrastructure, today announced that the company has achieved SOC 3 security compliance. The internationally-recognized security certification demonstrates that MacStadium meets the trust service principles outlined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for the security, privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of its infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) services to its customers.

The AICPA System and Organization Controls (SOC) are internal control reports on the services provided by a service organization. SOC reports are designed to provide assurance about the controls at a service organization relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. To achieve SOC 3 compliance, MacStadium underwent an external audit performed by Coalfire Controls, LLC, a registered CPA firm authorized for SOC 3 reporting. This independent, third-party audit certifies that MacStadium's infrastructure, software, people, procedures and data meet the AICPA's trust service principles.

This SOC 3 designation joins a long list of security certifications held by MacStadium, including ISO 27001, SOC 1 (Type 2), SOC 2 (Type 2), SSAE 16, and GDPR-compliance. The company's SOC 3 certification applies across all MacStadium environments and to each of its global data centers. Read this here.

"Achieving SOC 3 certification underscores our commitment to providing a secure cloud environment," said Darrell Stinson, MacStadium's Chief Information Security Officer. "Going through the external audit process and achieving this strict security certification demonstrates how MacStadium consistently safeguards its infrastructure, systems and information. We are proud of the investments we have made in security as it helps our customers rest easy knowing they are partnered with the most secure Mac cloud provider on the planet."

Unlike SOC 1 and 2, SOC 3 reports are freely distributed to the public for general use. MacStadium's SOC 3 report can be found here. To learn more about MacStadium's security policies, procedures and certifications, please visit the company's security web page.
