Aladtec Representatives Heading to Marble Falls for Texas EMS Conference

Two representatives from Aladtec, a leading provider of cloud-based scheduling and workforce management software for Public Safety, will meet with customers and demonstrate the newest features during EMS Evolution 2019 -- a three-day conference hosted by the Texas EMS Association.

Organizers have chosen a new venue for the fifth annual conference; the Horseshoe Bay Resort, about 50 miles northwest of Austin. It's billed as one of the largest EMS conferences in the Southwest.
Aladtec is a Silver Sponsor for the event. At least 25 vendors are expected to showcase products and services during the July 17-19 event.

Product Manager Jaimie Hammond and business development representative Ashley Stone will be available to visit with customers and answer questions from Monday, June 17th, through Wednesday, June 19th.
Most EMS agencies need to manage 24/7 shift rotations for both full-time and part-time employees. Communication tools embedded in the Aladtec software enable staff to initiate swaps and trades, request time-off, extra hours, and receive schedule reminders while allowing administrators to make approvals and fill open shifts in minutes. The secure system can be accessed via any smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer with internet access.

Other Aladtec features allow for easy tracking of certifications and licenses, creation and management of electronic forms, a member discussion forum, abundant storage for policies and procedures, and much more. Many customers say they pay for the low-cost annual subscription through time savings in just weeks or a couple of months. Read this here.

Aladtec improves agency efficiency, reduces human error, and streamlines processes. After implementing Aladtec, agencies also report reduced overtime and reducing staff time spent on employee scheduling and management chores.
Aladtec is currently being used by 90 agencies across Texas, including the newest customers -- Freeport Fire & EMS, and Mont Belvieu Emergency Services. Some 900 EMS agencies nationwide use Aladtec. Click here.

Michael Simmons became familiar with Aladtec as a firefighter/paramedic with the city of Garland then at the Kilgore Fire Dept. where he was Chief of Operations. Today, he uses it to schedule instructors and train students in his role as director of the Kilgore College Fire Academy. Be alert to read related news.

"Most everything we do as far as run reports, patient reports, e-mails and communications -- most everything is done via the electronic world now."
Simmons particularly likes the Required Messages tool in the Aladtec software.

"You'd send an e-mail or text message, and I'd hear "I didn't get that!", well, they can't schedule a vacation until they've read it, then when they say 'I didn't know anything about that,' you can show them the date and time at which they acknowledged it. The Academy's students learn how to create and use electronic forms for truck checks, injury reports and time sheets.

Daily seminar topics focus on staffing and recruitment, emerging technology, legislative updates, mental health programs that work, answers to regulatory questions, a medical director panel discussion, and exploring payment models.

SecureMac Releases MacScan 3.2 Anti-Malware Security & Privacy Suite for MacOS

SecureMac has announced the latest version of their flagship macOS security app: MacScan 3.2. Company officials say that this release will deliver an important privacy improvement for the Safari browser, as well as providing users with some significant UI/UX enhancements.

The most notable change in MacScan 3.2 is that it now supports Full Disk Access in macOS 10.14 (Mojave), allowing users to clean Safari items using the app's Internet Clutter Cleanup functionality. This should come as welcome news to the many Mojave users concerned about privacy issues caused by tracking cookies in Safari.

As SecureMac CEO Nicholas Raba remarked, "As the majority of Mac users are using Safari as their primary browser, MacScan 3.2 will fill a significant gap in their ability to protect themselves from unwanted tracking. By providing a fast and easy way to scan for privacy threats in Safari, MacScan will allow users to protect their privacy or even blacklist certain tracking cookies if they choose."

The update comes as Apple itself is moving to take action on privacy issues in Safari. A new privacy standard for the browser, called "Privacy Preserving Ad Click Attribution", was announced several weeks ago on the WebKit blog. Though still in beta, the end goal of PPACA is to prevent advertisers from tracking and collecting excessive data on users who click on online ads. However, the proposed standard is not expected to go live until the end of 2019. In the meantime, Safari users will likely continue to rely on apps like MacScan to protect their privacy. Read this for more information.

In addition to addressing privacy issues in Safari, MacScan 3.2 also brings some UI/UX improvements, as well as a minor bug fix that will ensure scan logs display properly in all versions of macOS.

Lead Developer Nicholas Ptacek summed up the development process underlying the changes this way: "Computer security has traditionally been viewed as something complicated and scary, so one of our goals with MacScan 3 has been to make the process of securing your Mac as easy as possible for computer users of any skill level. To that end, we've worked hard to provide an intuitive user interface so that our customers can spend less time worrying about security and more time getting things done on their Macs."

Because MacScan automatically checks for updates, licensed users of MacScan 3.1 will see the version 3.2 update when they launch the program. In addition, a DMG download of the latest version of the app will be made available on the SecureMac website.

As for the road ahead, SecureMac says they plan to continue working on updates and support for MacScan to make sure it's ready for the Fall 2019 release of macOS 10.15 (Catalina), announced by Apple at last week's Worldwide Developers Conference

WideOrbit and Hudson MX Expand Partnership—Making it Easier and More Profitable for Media Buyers and Sellers to Transact Local Broadcast TV Ads

Building on the successful integration of Airtimes, WideOrbit and Hudson MX are now focused on improving the pre-buy and order stewardship processes for media buyers and broadcasters. The two companies have been collaborating on streamlining processes and leveraging TIP Protocols to eliminate the time-consuming tasks that can make local TV buying slow, costly, and inefficient. Through the tighter integration of the two platforms, the combined offering will bring the speed, accountability, and results that marketers are increasingly demanding from their media investments.

This partnership brings together two companies committed to immediately enabling modernization of the process for buying and selling local broadcast television. WideOrbit's WO Traffic, a broadcast station group system of record, is used to manage more than 90% of U.S. local TV ad revenue. Hudson MX is working to level the playing field—both in terms of ad budget share and workflow management—between buyers of local TV and their digital media peers. Since January of 2019, Hudson MX's BuyerAssist ™ has already been used to transact $2 billion in local ad buys among 700 buyers and 3,000 sellers across 30 of the largest agencies and all 210 markets.

The workflow improvements will come through an integration of Hudson MX's BuyerAssist ™ platform and WideOrbit's Unified Sales Console through the AgencyCloud API suite. By working directly with Hudson MX, WideOrbit is building tools that fit immediately and seamlessly with current agency workflows. Integrations are in process with full end-to-end solution available by the end of Q3 2019, in order to support all 2020 buys.

"Buyers deserve modern tools that free up time for them to focus on delivering the full value of local TV to their brands" said JT Batson, CEO and Founder of Hudson MX. "In collaboration with our visionary agency partners, we have developed a new platform that not only empowers buyers, but is also capable of integrating seamlessly with a broadcaster's existing systems. We were very excited that WideOrbit jumped on board as our first official partner. We are grateful to Eric and his team for the enthusiasm, speed, and urgency they've brought to this effort. The result is that their broadcasters will be ready to take full advantage of the benefits of this new partnership for all 2020 buys. Their meaningful investment sets the standard for how others can step up to help grow the local broadcast ecosystem."

"The WideOrbit-Hudson MX partnership is a big win for local TV advertising buyers and sellers," said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO at WideOrbit. "Buyers will benefit from workflow modernization that streamlines the entire buying process, while leaving buyers and sellers in complete control of their inventory. Now that local buyers have modern tools and data at their fingertips they can continually deliver superior results for advertisers in less time. Thus, stations should see more interest from national brands in their local broadcast TV audiences and inventory."

Read this here.:

Mathewson continued, "By deepening our relationship with Hudson MX, WideOrbit delivers on our promise of continually improving solutions that allow ad buyers and sellers to do business however they choose. We will continue to focus on products, integrations, and innovations that make local broadcasting as compelling to ad buyers as any other type of media."

The WideOrbit / Hudson MX Partnership is further evidence of the two companies' continued support for the TIP Initiative. TIP (Television Interface Practices) is an industry working group dedicated to promoting open interfaces to streamline advertising transactions for local TV broadcasters and their media agency partners.
