EZ Waiting Room Expands their National Effort to Raise Awareness of Type-two Diabetes Risk with a Brandperx Partnership

A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) finds that 84 million American adults (more than 1 in 3) have prediabetes, and EZ Waiting Room wants to do something about this pending crisis. Prediabetes—a condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels, but not high enough to be classified as type-2 diabetes—affects over 75 million Americans who are unaware of their condition. The ez WaitingRoom™ app offers people a "perfect way to spend a minute" where they can take the one-minute Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test while waiting for their doctor's visit to start.

"We are thrilled to support the effort to increase the awareness of Prediabetes and to assist in making a positive difference in the health of our nation by helping fewer people progress to Type 2 Diabetes; we know that awareness does make a difference for people. The ez WaitingRoom™ app offers people a safe, private, and enjoyable experience on their device while waiting at a doctors' office. Our new partnership with the Brandperx network of over 250,000 doctors opens this up to the vast majority of the people in need in our country," says Ed Young, CEO of EZ Waiting Room LLC. "We're serious about helping doctors reach the positive outcomes that they desire for their patients."

Last year, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Medical Association (AMA), and CDC, along with the Ad Council, released PSAs that helped hundreds of thousands of Americans learn their risk for developing type 2 diabetes by directing people to take a Type 2 Diabetes/Prediabetes Risk Test. The American Diabetes Association started a program earlier in 2018 along with the ez WaitingRoom™ app to reach the many millions more that need to take the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test. Building on that program's initial success the program is growing from 15,000 doctor offices to availability in over 150,000 doctor offices through the ez WaitingRoom™ apps partnership with the Brandperx network of over 250,000 doctors. "Not only do we want to help raise awareness of prediabetes risk factors, but we also want to leverage our connection with doctors to help them identify and deliver care to the patients who have high levels of prediabetes risk. This initiative is more than an awareness campaign; we want to help doctors stage 75 million interventions with the Americans who don't realize they are speeding down the road to type-2 diabetes". -Ed Young, CEO

Patients can often reverse prediabetes through weight loss, diet changes, and increased physical activity. Diagnosis is critical, as research shows that people are much more likely to make the necessary lifestyle changes once they are aware of their condition. A rise in the incidence of type 2 diabetes presents a significant threat to people in America, increasing healthcare costs across the country. To reverse this trend, EZ Waiting Room, LLC is supporting the national effort and working to make an impact in the community through the national launch of the ez WaitingRoom™ app and collaboration with the ADA.
