According to Kristy Aurand, CAP's Chief Development Officer, CAP's former website was built on a platform that made it difficult to do in-house website edits and updates, which meant CAP was either spending money with a consultant or not making needed changes to web content. Aurand says the CAP team felt it was necessary to transition their site to WordPress to better share their story with the community with increased in-house ability to make content and design updates.
"One of CAP's core values is innovation, which means we often add new programs, services, or partnerships, and we will now be able to create a robust web presence that accurately portrays our organization," Aurand says. "The new site keeps all the great information our customers regularly access regarding available resources, while giving us the ability to share success stories, engage the community in supporting CAP and – most importantly – share the 'why' regarding the importance of our work."
To create its new website, CAP turned to Lancaster County's RODA marketing and worked directly with firm co-founder Matthew Roda. Aurand says RODA was by CAP's side every step of the way, from initial concept design to content creation.

"Not only does Matt know what makes a good website, he also understood from the very beginning how important storytelling is to us," Aurand says. "He was also our biggest cheerleader, sending reminders to keep us on track and advice on how to make the process less overwhelming."
"Community Action Partnership contacted us to make their website mobile friendly and to bring life into the website with bigger images, videos, etc. We collaborated with their team throughout the process and really enjoyed helping them bring their vision to fruition. Our goal was to make the community of Lancaster more aware of all the wonderful things CAP does and their new website will definitely do that for them" – Matt Roda, Owner of RODA marketing.
CAP is Lancaster County's largest anti-poverty organization, helping low-income families move toward a life free from poverty's barriers. CAP's service profile interrupts inter-generational poverty with programs that support families and individuals at every age and place in life, in the areas of education and child development, health and nutrition, household stability and safety and empowerment.
