Adder Heads Off to Atlanta-Based Accelerator, The Farm, to Validate and Scale Location Analytics Services

Louisville-based vehicle advertising and location analytics startup, Adder, has been accepted into The Farm: a collaboration between Boomtown Accelerators and Comcast/NBC Universal focused on technology research and startup development.

The 12 week program began on August 26, with 10 companies participating in the Atlanta-based cohort. Located in the Comcast building in The Battery, The Farm is working hand-in-hand with Adder's leadership to validate their market-ready location analytics services for out of home advertising clients. Dubbed "Analytics for the Real World" by Adder, their outdoor advertising platform shows impressions, location-conversions, real world clickthrough, and other key performance statistics to outdoor advertising providers and marketers. Traditionally, these markets had been under-served and at a disadvantage to more trackable, if not more invasive, digital advertisements.

Utilizing a state of the art facility, prototype development and testing equipment, as well as an extensive network of mentors and other human resources brings many advantages for Adder, "The Farm is the perfect place for us to validate and further improve our analytics technology -- and we're surrounded by professionals that are a great fit for our team specifically," said Ian Gerard, CEO and Product Architect for Adder.

Author Discusses God’s Plan for Animals after Life in Comforting New Book

The Meatball Chronicles Rolls Into The Historic PeƱasco Theatre

'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul' actress Debrianna Mansini brings her highly acclaimed solo show The Meatball Chronicles to the historic Peñasco Theatre for two performances on October 5th and 6th. Chosen as one of the 14 Best Things to Do by LA Weekly, The Meatball Chronicles follows one woman through humorous, and sometimes heart wrenching, meals that align with stories of her childhood, her relationships with men, and in particular, her complicated relationship with her mother. Mansini crafts this piece in a way that transcends her own story into universal themes that anyone who has a family can love. Brian Grant Foundation Launches Team Grant Online Exercise Community for Parkinson's

The Brian Grant Foundation (BGF) has launched Team Grant, an easy-to-use online tool that allows people with Parkinson's disease (PD) to set fitness goals, track their exercise activities, earn badges for working out, and connect with others in the PD community.

At team-grant.briangrant.org, Team Grant members can create a profile where they can set fitness goals, track their exercise activity and monitor their progress. Each time a Team Grant member logs an activity on their profile, they are one step closer to earning a fun fitness badge. Users can also integrate their Team Grant fitness activity with a Fitbit wearable device.

Members of Team Grant will receive the latest information about managing Parkinson's symptoms through diet and exercise, including fitness and nutrition tips, interviews with experts, profiles of people in the Parkinson's community, and more. They'll also get updates from BGF founder Brian Grant, a former National Basketball Association player who was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's in 2008.

"Playing in the NBA taught me about accountability to my teammates," said Brian Grant. "Together, we were able to overcome great odds. I believe Team Grant can build that same culture for the Parkinson's community so that we can live our lives to the fullest."

Team Grant is based on a former project of BGF and the World Parkinson Congress (WPC), called the Power Through Project, which was a marketing campaign for the WPC in September 2016. Power Through Project users formed teams to track their activity on a web-based map from Montreal, the site of the WPC 2013 to Portland, the site of the WPC 2016. The success of the Power Through Project campaign inspired the recently launched Team Grant network, where users can now set their own individual fitness goals and track their success toward achieving them.

Parkinson's is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects cells in the brain that produce dopamine, a chemical messenger that helps to control movement. The outward signs of Parkinson's may include tremors, slowness of movement, balance problems and rigidity. Though there is no cure for Parkinson's, research has shown that physical activity, healthy eating and social connections are important aspects for managing the condition and improving quality of life with the disease.

First Half Results are Positive for the U.S. B2B Tech Indirect Market, According to NPD

According to The NPD Group's B2B Distributor and Reseller Tracking Service, the U.S. B2B technology market saw 4 percent dollar growth during the first half of 2019 compared to first half 2018, with sales reaching nearly $45 billion. During this timeframe, software sales experienced 8 percent growth, now making up 26 percent of industry sales, while hardware dollar sales saw a 3 percent increase[1].

In software, the importance of security is continuing to drive sales gains in the first half of 2019 with increases in the following security software categories: security information & event management (+30 percent), identity & access management (+20 percent), and gateway & firewall (+15 percent).
