The Meatball Chronicles Rolls Into The Historic Peñasco Theatre

'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul' actress Debrianna Mansini brings her highly acclaimed solo show The Meatball Chronicles to the historic Peñasco Theatre for two performances on October 5th and 6th. Chosen as one of the 14 Best Things to Do by LA Weekly, The Meatball Chronicles follows one woman through humorous, and sometimes heart wrenching, meals that align with stories of her childhood, her relationships with men, and in particular, her complicated relationship with her mother. Mansini crafts this piece in a way that transcends her own story into universal themes that anyone who has a family can love. As Mansini kneads the dough and thickens the sauce through each Italian recipe, the stories associated with those recipes reveal the complex ways that families cope, laugh, grieve, and show their love through food.

For this performance, Mansini has invited Chef Ki at the adjoining Sugar Nymphs Bistro to prepare a Meatball Special during the weekend of the show. Mansini is excited to have the Bistro on board. "Chef Ki has graciously offered to join the fun and will make something incredible - she has mad skills and her food is just fantastic!"

The historic Peñasco Theatre is located in the scenic mountains of Northern New Mexico on Highway 75, nestled beneath billowing clouds and a stark blue sky. It is the area's only solar-powered, hand-built adobe theatre. Built in 1940 by Amado Roybal, the Peñasco Theatre stands as a testament to the resiliency of a community gathering place and the importance of keeping performance traditions alive. Sugar Nymphs Bistro is a farm-to-table restaurant where Chef Ki creates her magic. She is the owner and also the pastry chef. She has baked most of her professional life and has earned high praise for her food at Nymphs, from Fodor's to Chowhound. Sugar Nymphs Bistro remains on a 'must-eat' list for everyone who visits from Santa Fe to Taos.
