Bill Poulos, Co-Founder of Profits Run, Revealed How Investors Should Approach the Market Amid Trump's Tweets

Bill Poulos, President and Co-Founder of Profits Run, Inc., announced that although it is unclear the outcome of the meeting between the United States and China, the best way for investors to approach the market is by making decisions based upon facts. This past Saturday, December 1, 2018, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and China's President Xi Jinping met to discuss the current trade battle. For the next 90 days, the two men agreed to halt all new tariffs for the next 90 days as the countries pursue negotiations. Bill Poulos shared, "Now that sounds like great news, right? Well it would be, if that was the whole story. The markets which jumped up in response to the favorable sentiments being made by White House representatives quickly turned sour. Per Larry Kudlow, the trade deal devolved into a tentative commitment. Using words like 'maybe' and 'presumably'. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, meanwhile, commented that 'I'm taking President Xi at his word, and his commitment to President Trump. But they have to deliver on this.'"

Poulos continued, "The complete lack of response from China over this change in sentiment is ominous, to say the least. President Xi Jinping traveled to Europe after the G20 Summit with no clear indication on when he would actually give negotiations with the U.S. the time of day and investors took a beat to realize all their excitement might be based on absolutely nothing. As JPMorgan said this Tuesday, 'It doesn't seem like anything was actually agreed to at the dinner and White House officials are contorting themselves into pretzels to reconcile Trump's tweets (which seem if not completely fabricated then grossly exaggerated) with reality.'"

Profits Run's President went on to explain, "A high ranking contact within the White House said, 'nobody knows what the deal is' to the Washington Post. Meanwhile, another government official is quoted by the Washington Post as saying the Chinese are 'puzzled and irritated' by Trump's tweets and his own administrations unwillingness to agree with them."

Poulos then revealed, "The Chinese Minister of Finance was crystal clear with their feelings on Wednesday when they called the meeting Saturday 'very successful', stating that 90 Days is sufficient time to complete negotiations. At least we can count on China for some clarity as to the state of things, a clarity which may actually lead to a reduction of current tariffs in the long run."

In conclusion, Poulos stated, "With all the ups and downs of a roller coaster, if the past few days have taught us anything it's that the market and emotions have no business affecting each other. It's already hard enough to find long-term positions in a market this volatile without worrying about the President's latest Tweet. When it does happen, though, it's best to take a beat, wait for the facts, and then act on them."

Bill Poulos is the president and co-founder of Profits Run. He is a retired automotive executive with a passion for philanthropy. He holds a bachelor's in engineering and a Master of Business Administration, with a finance major. He has written many books about successful trading and now lives with his wife in Michigan. Poulos is a regular contributor on Investing, Medium, and Pulse.

Martello Named Employees' Choice Awards 2018-19 Winner by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Board of Trade

Martello Technologies Group Inc. ("Martello") (TSXV: MTLO), a leading provider of network performance management solutions for real-time communications, was recently named a recipient of the Employees' Choice Awards 2018-19. This is the third time Martello has been recognized with this award, which is designed to identify, recognize and honour the best places of employment in the National Capital Region.

This annual competition is organized by the Ottawa Business Journal, the Ottawa Board of Trade and sponsored by Meldrum Horne & Associates. The recipient companies were celebrated at a cocktail awards reception on Thursday, December 6th at Marshes Golf Club. They will also be profiled in OBJ's January 2019 issue. This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honour the best places of employment in the National Capital Region, benefiting the region's economy, its work force and businesses. The Employee's Choice Awards list is made up of a total of 10 companies.

"It's a great honour for OBJ to present these awards again along with our partners at the Ottawa Board of Trade. What really distinguishes these awards, in my mind, is the recipients are determined based on direct input from employees," says Michael Curran, OBJ publisher.

As demonstrated in the Board of Trade's recent report, "Skilled Labour Shortages, Immigrants and Hidden Talent," 63 percent of respondents in the 2018 Ottawa Business Growth Survey reported that talent acquisition and retention is one of their most important business issues.

"At Martello, we believe that our employees are our greatest asset and the key reason that we have been so successful in propelling the company to where it is today. With a response rate of over 90 percent, it is encouraging to see that our efforts to foster a strong culture that values our team has resulted in an extremely high retention rate, and unwavering client satisfaction," said Martello CEO, John Proctor.

"Awards programs like Employees' Choice shine a light on local companies who have achieved a high level of employee engagement. This gives these companies a significant advantage in the war of talent," says Ian Faris, Board of Trade President and CEO.

Organizations from across the region entered the survey process to determine the list of recipients. The survey process consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.

Embrace Pet Insurance Survey Reveals that Pets are Part of the Family this Holiday Season

Embrace Pet Insurance surveyed more than 6,950 dog and cat owners across the United States this holiday season to learn if, and how, pets are included in holiday traditions.

The survey found that Americans don't just give gifts to their human family members during the holidays, but to their dogs and cats as well, with 92% of pet owners purchasing gifts for their pets. The most popular gift? Toys. While treats came in a close second, 94% of gift-giving pet parents purchase a toy for their pet during the holidays. Turns out, presentation is also important to pet owners as 62% take the time to wrap their furry friend's gifts, and 77% even have a stocking for their pet. So take note American retailers, with 73% of pet owners spending between $10-$50 on gifts and 5% spending $100 or more, pet parents are a key demographic at the holidays.

These results demonstrate that now more than ever, pets are not just "pets," rather members of the family. We travel with them (44% of those surveyed take their pet with them during holiday travel), include them in our holiday photos & cards (62% of those surveyed do), and they're a part of our gift-giving traditions.

As much as giving tangible gifts to our four-legged friends helps spread holiday cheer, the most invaluable gift that pet parents can give their dog or cat this holiday season can't be found under the tree. For around the same cost per month as most pet parents are spending on toys and treats this holiday season, they can give their pet the ultimate gift that keeps on giving – a pet insurance policy to protect them from unexpected accidents and illnesses.

"At Embrace, we consider pets members of the family. It's fun to include them in holiday traditions, but it's also important to keep them top-of-mind year-round. Pet insurance offers the gift of peace of mind so, when the unexpected happens, you don't have to think twice about your vet's recommended course of treatment," said Ambrish Jaiswal, CEO at Embrace Pet Insurance. Washington Realtor Lesleigh Jacobs Touts the Merits of Selling in Winter

Spring and summer are widely considered to be the best times of year to sell a house. "However, selling your house in winter has some distinct advantages," said Jacobs. Read all the related news.

To educate homeowners about selling in the winter, Jacobs, who has a 30-day maximum exposure marketing plan, dispels the following four myths.

Myth No. 1: It's too late in the season to sell. "This couldn't be further from the truth," stressed Jacobs. "The truth of the matter is that a plethora of serious buyers are in the market during this time of year. These include people that have been transferred due to their jobs and those that have just sold or closed on their home."

Myth No. 2: There are no buyers in the winter. Actually, buyers are out in droves. "When Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices puts its homes on the market in the winter, we actually get ahead of the flood of homes that will come onto the market in the spring," added Jacobs.

Myth No. 3: People can't enjoy their holiday guests if their home is for sale. False, as there are simple ways to ensure one's holidays are uninterrupted. "Have your Realtor put a 'No showings during ...' notice in the local Multiple Listing, which will notify Realtors that you are not showing the home on certain days," noted Jacobs. "You can also take your key box off and put a 'Showing by appointment only' sign attached to the bottom of your sign. When your guests leave, activate your listing again."

Myth No. 4: Realtors are not working in the winter. "I personally work right through the holidays because I know there is plenty of business during this time of year. But this year I'm taking the holiday off but working the rest of the season," concluded Jacobs. "It is imperative that you find a Realtor who is willing to work during this time of year, but still takes the time to enjoy the holidays."

Studio at Hypefest 2018), music (he has designed album covers for Frank Ocean and Classixx, among others, and directed videos for Beck) and media (in 2018 alone, his designs have graced publications ranging from FADER and The New Yorker to The New York Times and Vanity Fair).

Overtime was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Dan Porter and Zack Weiner as a sports network for the digital generation. Overtime has since expanded to the college and professional ranks. Its content has driven well over a billion minutes watched year-to-date, reaching over 35 million unique viewers and generating 500 million views per month. A number of brands --including EA, Gatorade and Jordan-- have partnered with Overtime in the last year.

Overtime's investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Greycroft, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant and NBA Commissioner Emeritus David Stern.
