Bibliotech Announces Appointment of Sean Devine as its Advisor to the Board of Directors

Bibliotech, a leading digital textbook provider, announced that Sean Devine, former CEO of CourseSmart, a since acquired provider of eTextbooks and digital course materials, will be appointed as its Advisor to the Board of Directors. The appointment will bring additional educational and content expertise to the Bibliotech Board of Directors.

Sean Devine joined CourseSmart in 2006 and was responsible for the company's formation and the development of the product and marketing strategy. CourseSmart was a joint venture of the world's leading Higher Education publishers including Pearson, McGraw Hill, Cengage, Wiley, and Macmillan. Under Sean's management, CourseSmart pioneered many of the innovations currently in the market including Inclusive Access which ensures that all students have their important course materials within the Learning Management System on the first day of class and significantly reduced prices. In addition, CourseSmart led the industry in working with College Bookstores to ensure that students were able to purchase digital course material from the bookstore point of sale system. CourseSmart also received may accolades for its analytics platform which helped professors know what students were at risk, enabling early intervention and improving student success.

Before CourseSmart, Sean spent six years as the founding CEO of Safari Books Online, a leading provider of electronic access to technical and business content.

Sean also spent time in leadership positions iBooks.com, Dun & Bradstreet, UMI/Bell & Howell, Ziff Davis and The Thomson Corporation where he was responsible for leading market strategy, product development, and business operations.
