GovX Announces National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as July's Recipient of Mission Giveback Donation Program

GovX, the online shopping site exclusively for current and former military, law enforcement and first responders, selected the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as July's recipient of the Mission Giveback donation program. Each month, GovX chooses a service-related foundation performing work in the military, first responder, or law enforcement communities, and donates a portion of proceeds from orders placed during the given month. GovX will donate $0.25 from every July order to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial located in Washington DC honors more than 21,000 officers who have died in the line of duty in the United States. The Fund's mission is to tell the story of American law enforcement, honor the fallen and make it safer for those who serve.

The organization is enthusiastically preparing for October 13, 2018, the day when the brand new National Law Enforcement Museum opens across the street from the Memorial in Washington DC. Over a decade of planning and persistence went into the construction and curation of the Museum, and will be the permanent home of American law enforcement history. When it opens, visitors will also enjoy an immersive "walk in the shoes" experience of what it's like to serve in law enforcement.

"We're proud that the Museum will serve as a platform for constructive dialog to help strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve," said David L. Brant, who serves as Executive Director of the Museum.

"Through personal and professional relationships, we have a special connection to the law enforcement community here in San Diego," said Alan Cole, GovX CEO. "We work every day to provide for officers nationwide, and supporting the Memorial Fund is another way we can give back to law enforcement professionals across the country."

In addition to their public outreach and advocacy for officer safety, the Memorial Fund also partners with agencies and groups dedicated to saving the lives of officers by focusing on safety programs and training. One such example is Destination Zero, a program designed to help departments improve the safety and health of officers through wellness programs that aim to reduce line-of-duty injuries.
