Western International Securities Inc., an independent broker and advisor firm, will hold its National Conference August 15-18, 2018 at the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, California.
In addition to equity analyst Pachter's take on the future of the electronic industry, the conference will again feature a variety of breakout sessions that provide the latest information on marketing to different generations, Socially Responsible Investing (SRI), cyber security updates and cybercrime's role in financial security and updates to lobbying efforts for the benefit of small independent brokers.
Michael Pachter is an oft-quoted video game, social media, digital media and electronics analyst with Wedbush Securities. He is also the Head of Research for the Private Shares Group, a Wedbush division which focuses on companies which have not yet gone public such as Facebook (pre-IPO) and Twitter.
An entertaining and irreverent speaker, Pachter hosts his own online show called Pach-Attack![5] Known to be both controversial and candid, Pachter is also known to analyze specific video game companies and other aspects of the video game industry, such as retailers. He regularly criticizes corporate practices and defends the concerns of video gamers. Pachter is regularly cited by national publications in the United States, including The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Pachter has an MBA and two law degrees. Prior to his tenure at Wedbush, Pachter worked for 16 years at Arco[1] where he was Arco's director of strategic planning until mid-1998.
"Michael always has such great insights into the world of high-tech stocks. He has been an analyst on video games for decades, and he is never shy about sharing his opinions on what has become a $137.9 billion business (according to market researcher Newzoo). While he may be loud and passionate about the tech world, he's also astute when it comes to observations about big tech companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, and Activision Blizzard". Says Andrew Kuo, Western's Managing Director for Operations and Technology. "His analysis and predictions generally follow with fervent discussion on message boards, mainly because of the controversial nature of some of his statements. He doesn't pull any punches."
