Pursuant Releases 2019 Giving Outlook to Address Recent Decline in Philanthropic Giving

Pursuant, a full-service fundraising agency serving nonprofit organizations, recently released its annual Giving Outlook to equip philanthropy leaders with the most important insights and takeaways from a myriad of recent industry reports. This year's Giving Outlook specifically addresses the recent decline in individual giving the industry experienced in 2018.

"All of the industry reports indicate that 2018 was a complicated year for fundraisers," expresses Jennifer Bielat, Executive Vice President of Client Strategy at Pursuant. "This year's Giving Outlook was created to help our clients, as well as other nonprofit leaders, recognize the most important changes that are happening in our industry and address the declines we saw last year." Read here.

The Pursuant Giving Outlook synthesizes many of the very best sources of nonprofit benchmark data including: Giving USA 2019, donorCentrics Index of Direct Marketing, Fundraising Effectiveness Project Quarterly Report, M+R Benchmarks Study, and the Philanthropy Outlook. It is researched and written as a collaboration between Pursuant Insights and Pursuant's fundraising strategists to provide the most valuable industry takeaways for overall fundraising, direct response, online programs, and specific insights for each sub-sector along with perspectives on growth and innovation.

"As an agency built by fundraisers for fundraisers, we recognize that many of today's philanthropy leaders have the difficult job of successful leading their organizations through the changes our industry is experiencing," says Trent Ricker, President & CEO of Pursuant. "Our hope is that the Pursuant Giving Outlook will make that task a bit more manageable by providing new ideas and insights to address their specific challenges."

Key Takeaways from the 2019 Pursuant Giving Outlook:

"We wanted this year's Giving Outlook to provide insights and encouragement to nonprofit leaders who are trying to navigate the challenging landscape of philanthropic giving," explained Matthew Mielcarek, Vice President of Analytics and Insights for Pursuant Insights. "If anything, the declines we saw in 2018 are a wake up call that remind us the 'business-as-usual' tactics that often masked issues such as poor donor retention aren't working anymore. We saw organizations that thrived in 2018, and organizations that will thrive in the future, are intentional about creating meaningful relationships with their constituents and strengthen their fundraising programs by bolstering donor loyalty."

The Outlook also includes ideas from Pursuant's team of fundraising strategists on the various ways nonprofits can respond to the declines by embracing the concept of donor loyalty.

Austin Artist Creates Surreal Photographs Without Digital Manipulation

An Austin artist is creating increasingly abstract scenes in his photographs without Photoshop or other digital manipulation software.

Tom Suhler recently took on the challenge of creating surreal imagery on set and sharing his images with viewers just days later. It provides a backstage view of the process as it unfolds. Read here.

"Traditionally I've waited to share my work until a collection of ideas was complete," Suhler explained. "This year I took a different approach and started posting a few images from each session on my blog (ArtLoversInsights) and social media. People ask me when they could see the new work and this allows me to show it without stopping production," which is now in its third year.

His current production keeps growing and generating different genres. What started as an exploration of life in the clouds has led to collections inspired by Plato's Symposium and by Vitruvius' proportions of the human body which inspired da Vinci.

"In April I was hit with this idea of how I could fracture reality through surreal imagery," Suhler said. "This was inspired by particle physics, string theory, the nature of consciousness, and more." Click here to read the latest news.

Suhler collaborates with members of Austin's elite dance community as the dancers assume character roles in his single-image narratives.

"Dancers are great artists to work with in creating still narratives," Suhler said. "In dance, they portray characters while expressing ideas and emotions through movement and form -- that's exactly what we are striving for."

Why no digital manipulation?

"I love challenging myself in as many different ways as possible simultaneously," Suhler explained. "Creating meaningful artistic expressions satisfies the urges from my right brain, while my left brain impulses focus on the technical challenges in my artistic decisions."

Suhler will exhibit his recent work this fall at his gallery, Exposure Fine Art Gallery & Studio, in East Austin.

About Tom Suhler

Tom Suhler is a multidisciplinary artist living in Austin, Texas. Relationships are at the core of his images. Relationships between characters and the worlds they inhabit. The images strive to create a statement that on the surface is engagingly beautiful but also reveals deeper layers of mystery, grace and story that the viewer can imagine with emotions and intellect. His creative process includes shaping real world environments for characters to explore and engage, making digital manipulation of these images unnecessary.

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/keywordfirst-rebrands-as-true.html

PhishML analyzes every message coming into the PhishER platform and gives security professionals the information they need to make prioritization easier, faster and more accurate. This machine-learning module constantly learns based on messages that are tagged by security professionals in the PhishER user community. Aladtec Team Heading to APCO in Baltimore, Aug. 12-13

Three representatives from Aladtec, the premier provider of scheduling and workforce management software for public safety, will again be part of APCO International's Annual Conference & Expo next week.

The conference is billed as a "must-attend" event for public safety communications officials, from frontline telecommunicators to comm center managers to public safety communications equipment and services vendors.

A conference highlight is expected to be an opening address by Bret Baier, Fox News political anchor and host, entitled "Lessons of Leadership and Management: Looking at Ike's Life as a General and President and How that Translates to Today."

Session topics focus on leadership development, motivational tools, stress management, and mentoring.

Aladtec's scheduling platform is used by more than 100 comm centers across the nation, including Chagrin Valley Dispatch Center and Hillcrest Heights Communications Center in suburban Cleveland. They use Aladtec to schedule dozens of dispatchers and fill open shifts quickly with the program's Find Coverage Alert.

Administrator Nick DiCicco describes it as "fantastic. The employees can trade with each other and (submit) time-off requests from their smartphones. It automated processes for us, so they no longer had to be done by hand."

View this short video which describes how North Memorial Ambulance Communications Center in Brooklyn Center, MN, uses Aladtec to bid shifts and provide staff with easy access to their schedules anytime.

"We have learned Aladtec is way more than just a scheduling tool. We like that we can set rotations for months at a time which saves a lot of time preparing future schedules," said Melissa Carpenter, director of Autauga County 911, Prattville, AL. "So if a dispatcher calls in sick, we can send out a text or email to employees through the software, and they can sign up for the open shift or even specify which of those hours they can work. We created a shift turn over the form that does not need to be printed. We created other forms to use as well, which also cuts down on our paper cost and waste, including coaching forms, evacuation training, and vacation sell back forms."

Exhibit hours at APCO will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13. Account Executive Sophia Anger, Product Manager Jaimie Hammond, and Systems Specialist Moriah Boldon will provide live demonstrations at Booth # 224 and answer any questions for current customers or those interested in learning more.
