Oscium Releases New Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer

Today, Oscium is announcing WiPry 2500x, a Wi-Fi spectrum analyzer that visualizes 2.4 & 5 GHz on iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

The WiPry 2500x is the 5th generation of the award-winning WiPry product line, and it improves on an already impressive legacy of innovation and recognition. St. Louis-based PFI Announces Acquisition of Butler Merchandising Solutions

St. Louis-based retail store display and fixture manufacturing company, PFI Holding Company, LLC recently completed the acquisition of Butler Merchandising Solutions, Inc. Butler, also headquartered in St. Louis, has been a strong player in the temporary display business since 1926. Inspirational and Entertaining New Fictional Narrative ‘Two Roses’ is Released

Life experience has been the greatest teacher and motivational impetus for author Mazen Kharboutli's writing. In "Two Roses," his first work of fiction for adults, Kharboutli presents an entertaining and inspirational fictional narrative based on truth. Silanna Semiconductor Expands Line of Fully Integrated Active Clamp Flyback Controllers with 60W Version

Silanna Semiconductor today expanded its line of fully integrated active clamp flyback (ACF) controllers with the 60W SZ1105 Flyback PWM Controller. Like its 30W SZ1101 sibling, Silanna's SZ1105 60W controller combines four key ACF components: an advanced adaptive digital ACF controller and three ultra-high-voltage (UHV) components – an active clamp MOSFET, an active clamp FET driver and a startup voltage regulator. This unprecedented level of integration facilitates designing efficient, high-power-density AC/DC power adapters with low bill-of-material (BOM) cost. The 30W version is suited for designing mobile phone travel adapters, while the 60W version is suited for designing slim and compact adapters for powering notebooks, video game consoles and multi-port wall chargers.

By replacing the traditional RCD snubber with a clamp capacitor and an integrated active clamp MOSFET, the SZ1105 delivers lossless recycling of leakage energy to the output. Precise control of the active clamp circuit delivers near-zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for further efficiency improvements. Dr. Church is a pioneer in the field of personal genetics and synthetic biology. Church is the director of PersonalGenomes.org, the world's only open-access information on human genomic, environmental, and trait data. He is also the director of IARPA & NIH BRAIN Projects and National Institutes of Health Center for Excellence in Genomic Science and is a founding core member of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. Currently, Church is spearheading efforts on bringing back the woolly mammoth through genetic engineering at a lab at Harvard Medical School.

Church has played an important role in helping determine the three-dimensional structure of transfer RNA, a key genetic molecule, and helping develop DNA sequencing, which then led to dramatic cost reductions. Church and his team invented CRISPR for human stem cell genome editing and other synthetic biology technologies and applications. Now, his laboratory's use of CRISPR in human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPS) is the latest contender for precise gene therapy. Dr. Church has also contributed to the Human Genome Project and he co-initiated the BRAIN Initiative (2011). He has co-authored hundreds of scientific papers, patent publication, and the book, "Regenesis." He has received numerous awards including the Franklin Bower Laureate for Achievement in Science and election to the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering. Dr. George Church's innovations have been instrumental in nearly all "next-generation DNA sequencing methods" and are key in today's ongoing research.

Dr. Snyder is an international leader in the fields of functional genomics and proteomics and one of the major contributors of the ENCODE project. His keynote presentation will be on Big Data and Health and will take place on May 9, 2019 at 7:30 AM PDT. Snyder's research group was the first to perform a large-scale functional genomics project in any organism and has developed many technologies in genomics and proteomics. These include the development of proteome chips, methods for global mapping of transcription factor binding sites (ChIP-chip now replaced by ChIP-seq), and RNA-Seq to name a few. These technologies have been used for characterizing genomes, proteomes and regulatory networks.

Snyder is a cofounder of several biotechnology companies, including Protometrix, Affomix, Excelix, Personalis and founder of Qbio, and he presently serves on the board of a number of companies. He is also the author of the book, "Genomics and Personalized Medicine: What Everyone Needs to Know." Dr. Snyder and his lab have made several groundbreaking findings and advances in human genome research and continue to do so today.

    American IRA Discusses Doing Due Diligence on Self-Directed IRA Advisors

    Why do investors need to do proper due diligence before working with Self-Directed IRA advisors? According to a recent post at American IRA, a Self-Directed IRA firm based in Asheville, North Carolina, a recent episode in which someone did not perform their due diligence proved to be highly problematic.     The article at American IRA highlights the case of Perry Santillo, the founder/CEO of a Baltimore-based wealth management company as well as the popular host of a radio broadcast called "The Money Guys." According to the American IRA article, Santillo was found to have solicited at least 99 investors, trying to convince them to buy annuities and other assets with their existing retirement accounts and rolling the proceeds into a Self-Directed IRA.

    This action, in and of itself, is not necessarily problematic, according to the post. But once the rollovers were in place, the State of Maryland said Santillo then steered those investments into promissory notes for other companies. This blatant conflict of interest is against the rules. And because Santillo did not register with the State of Maryland as a financial advisor, there should have been no specific investment advice taking place at all.

    "This kind of case highlights how important it is for someone to do their due diligence before deciding what to do with their money," said Jim Hitt of American IRA. "An individual investor places a lot of faith with someone else when they hear their advice on retirement matters. If they are not careful, those funds could end up going to the wrong places. In extreme cases, they can even go toward lining the pockets of those advisers who do not have their clients' best interests at heart."
