Pet Wants Franchise Creates Founder’s Award and Recognizes Cincinnati’s Michele Hobbs and Amanda Broughton

When Michele Hobbs and Amanda Broughton created Pet Wants, they were trying to find a solution to their own dog's health issues and allergies. They knew fresh, high-quality food would make a difference, but they also needed convenience. Nothing on the market was meeting their needs and so Pet Wants was born. To recognize their vision, tenacity and leadership, the Pet Wants operations and leadership created a new award in their honor – the Founder's Award of Excellence. Hobbs and Broughton were presented with the first annual Founder's Award of Excellence at the Pet Wants national conference on February 19, 2019.

"Michele and Amanda have touched the lives of every single person who has experienced Pet Wants – our franchisees, corporate team members, franchisee team members and, most importantly, our customers and their pets. They have shed a lifetime of blood, sweat and tears in support of the Pet Wants products, brand and franchise and it's my honor to recognize their passion and entrepreneurial spirit by creating the Founder's Award of Excellence and presenting the first one to Michele and Amanda," Pet Wants President Scott Hoots said. Be alert to read related news.

Michele and Amanda founded Pet Wants in 2010 and, after seeing the demand for their products and the success of the business, they sold a few franchises nearby. In 2015, they partnered Franchise Funding Group to help jumpstart their growth and, within three years, the company was up to nearly 100 franchises.

"It's nice to know the legacy of Pet Wants now has an award that others can aspire to win. We hear from franchisees repeatedly that they bought into the franchise system specifically because of our enthusiasm and passion, which is what has driven our success from the beginning. Knowing that people recognize that passion and that enthusiasm is so encouraging as we work to build Pet Wants well into the future," Hobbs said.

Pet Wants' specially-crafted, private label pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl. Pet Wants Cincinnati offers multiple blends of dog and cat food formulas as well as healing salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more. Pet Wants has a 100-percent, money-back guarantee on the freshness and quality of the food and the company only sources the best salmon, chicken, lamb, brown rice and other ingredients available. There's no sugar added, no fillers and no animal by-products and Pet Wants never uses corn, wheat, soy or dyes, which makes the food great for animals with allergies.

Although the franchise growth has been exciting and Hobbs and Broughton are pleased to welcome new franchisees to the "pack," the growth has also created some challenges for them locally. With local franchisees surrounding the city of Cincinnati, especially on the west side and in Northern Kentucky, their own service area and business has been reduced to mostly the urban core of Cincinnati and their stores in Over-the-Rhine. Read this for more information.

"We've spent the last couple years re-focusing on our core metro customers and finding new avenues into businesses and homes to increase our delivery sales. As we look at the rest of 2019, we expect to continue those rebuilding efforts as we look to book more than 200 events outside of operating our two stores, the office and delivery. We recently leased a new 5,000-square-foot logistics facility to more efficiently operate our delivery and store operations. We're looking forward to the future," Hobbs said.

About Pet Wants: Pet Wants was founded in Cincinnati in 2010 to bring fresh, natural and conveniently-delivered pet food to pet families. Their mission is to enhance the health, vitality and life of pets with high-quality food and honest advice from a Pet Nutrition Specialist on staff at each location. Pet Wants pet food is personally delivered to homes within weeks of being made, at the height of freshness. Their food doesn't sit in warehouses and on store shelves for many months getting stale and losing nutritional value like it does for most mass-produced, national brands. Pet Wants' private label pet food formulas are slow-cooked in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients and enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced meal. Pet Wants only uses high-quality proteins and never uses added sugar, fillers, animal by-products, corn, wheat, soy or dyes. Pet Wants offers multiple blends of dog and cat food formulas as well as healing salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more. Through an investment and guidance from Franchise Funding Group, Pet Wants expanded into a national franchise in 2015 and grew to nearly 100 locations within just three years. BioTe® Files Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act & Lanham Act Lawsuit Against Evexias Health Solutions

Terri DeNeui, Dan DeNeui, Evexias Health Solutions, Farmakeio, Farmakeio Outsourcing, and others are named in a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and Lanham Act lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. Continue reading.

In the Complaint Case Number 4:18-cv-00866-ALM, BioTe® alleges that wife and husband Terri and Dan DeNeui, among others, "aggressively sought to bolster their revenue, increase profit and grow their share of the Bio-identical Hormone Therapy Market by unlawfully paying … kickbacks and bribes, misrepresenting their certifications and qualifications and that of their product, and illegally supplying unapproved formulations of their hormone therapy pellets to medical providers for distribution to patients, among a myriad of other allegations."

The Complaint further alleges that "the defendants are engaged in pernicious, illegal, and extensive enterprise to manufacture, market, sell and distribute illegal drugs throughout the United States. While undeniably less violent than the drug cartels infiltrating the U.S., the defendants illegally distributed their products … to sell their drugs to unsuspecting and trusting patients which presents a potentially greater health hazard than the cartels, whose products are distributed and sold through openly criminal means."

The lawsuit seeks, in addition to damages, to enjoin the defendants from "illegally manufacturing, marketing and distributing the Evexias Hormone Pellets (which have not undergone the drug approval process) and misleading doctors and patients about the lawfulness of their business." Hormonal imbalance and replacement has become a public health issue in the U.S. and has attracted a great number of people and businesses seeking to provide relief for the countless people suffering from it.

A preliminary injunction hearing is set for May 30, 2019 in federal court in Sherman, Texas.

Dr. Gary Donovitz is founder of BioTe® and The Institute for Hormonal Balance in Arlington, Texas, BioTe® has provided hormone optimization therapy to thousands of men and women across the U.S. who experience hormonal imbalances in their body for more than 10 years. BioTe® hormone replacement therapy was formulated by Dr. Donovitz.

BioTe® Medical, LLC is committed to uncovering, reporting and exposing fraud in the Bio-identical Hormone Therapy Market and ensuring that manufacturers and healthcare providers do not misrepresent their certifications, qualifications, or their products or supply unapproved formulations of their hormone therapy pellets to medical providers for distribution or treatment of patients.

The BioTe® Hormone Pellet Therapy formula has been licensed to over 3,000 physicians and physician groups across the United States. BioTe® Hormone Pellet Therapy has been administered over 1,200,000 times to over 400,000 patients throughout the United States and Puerto Rico with less than 1% experiencing any complications.

Breakthrough Machine Learning Study Published in Marketing Science

"Identifying Customer Needs from User-Generated Content" by Artem Timoshenko and John Hauser of the MIT Sloan School proposes a new machine-learning algorithm that identifies customer needs for marketing strategy and product development. This approach, combining machine-learning methods and human analysts, identifies relevant content and removes redundancy from user-generated content (UGC). As a result, machine learning, when partnered with professional analysts, leads to better and faster innovation across a myriad of industries. Read related news now.

The authors' research shows that UGC, such as online reviews, message boards or social media posts, is just as valuable, if not more valuable, than conventional methods of market research, such as interviews and focus groups. The machine-learning process greatly improves the efficiency of identifying customer needs from large sets of UGC so that brands can better understand what consumers want.

Boston-based market research firm Applied Marketing Science (AMS) was instrumental in the development, testing, and refinement of the machine-learning algorithm, and has used Timoshenko and Hauser's approach various times to help clients identify robust consumer insights.

"AMS has always been on the cutting edge of new market research techniques. We are excited about this application of machine learning because it allows us to improve the process for identifying unmet customer needs, quickly and at a lower cost to our clients than traditional research", said President and Managing Principal of AMS, John C. Mitchell. "As people continue to share their thoughts about product and brands online, the ability to quickly and thoroughly examine UGC with machine learning will become even more critical" said Mitchell.
