National Safety Shelters Announces Dual Purpose In-Classroom Shelters Now Available for Tornadoes and Active Shooters

For school districts located in "Tornado Alley", a new solution to school safety is beginning to turn heads. The Fox Sports Show "College Hoops" Teams Up With Current Music To Create New Opening Title Pop Song called "Make Em Believe"

The college basketball season started earlier this month and Fox Sports is set to bring some of the best games from the Big East. In the studio, Rob Stone returns as Fox Sports' lead college basketball host and will be joined by other recognizable faces from past years.

Having enjoyed a good relationship with Current Music from their previous work together, including the title opening song for their College Football Studio Show, Fox Sports producer Rick Thomas brought them on once again to do the same for The College Basketball Studio Show aka "College Hoops". To open the show, they were looking for a powerful hip hop track song a pop feel to it.

Current Music relayed the request from Fox Sports to their custom music team. After considering the demo submissions, the producers chose a track by the alternative rock band Blondstone, which is on Current Music's roster of composers.

"I think they picked our song because of the epic chord progression feel" says Blondstone's Laurent Lepagneau.

"Initially they liked the energy the track had and how it didn't sound like anything else" says Current Music's CCO Christian Salyer. "Once they decided on the track and it was time to add vocals, we thought it would be cool to add rock vocals to it; to make it even more unique, and they really liked that idea."

Adding vocals created an exciting and powerful pop-rock-hip hop song called "Make Em Believe", which debuts on College Hoops December 1st, 2018. Read latest news here.

This marks the second year that NAPCO and the global nonprofit housing organization have joined forces. In 2019, NAPCO will continue to dedicate volunteer time and provide product donations to help build and renovate safe and affordable homes for families across America.

Based on a multitude of economic and commercial real estate data used to formulate the overall ranking, the San Jose, California MSA tops Trepp's ranking of the 15 top MSAs in terms of investment potential. San Jose has the best delinquency rate, average occupancy rate, and unemployment reading of the 15 MSAs measured. The San Francisco, California, and Seattle, Washington MSAs finished in second and third, respectively, in Trepp's study.

"Our ranking of the top 15 MSAs gives market participants a sense of how these markets compare to each other across commercial real estate and more general economic factors," said Joe McBride, Director of Applied Data and Research at Trepp. "The West Coast's heavy tech presence boosted the top-ranked areas while a more stagnant Midwest pulled a few markets toward the bottom of the list." Trepp called upon six data variables to rank the markets in its study. Once data was collected, Trepp researchers conducted a multiple regression to test the relative importance of each variable and assign a weight to that variable. In addition to key data such as employment numbers and population growth, Trepp used the following criteria from their own commercial loan database as of Q2 2018 to tabulate their rankings:

The two largest US MSAs, New York City and Los Angeles, were ranked seventh and eighth, respectively. Both metros have average occupancy rates but suffer from relatively high unemployment and stagnant population growth. The worst-performing MSAs were the Detroit, Michigan and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania metro areas.

Crimson Cup Innovation Lab Hosts New Rules of Coffee Book Tour on December 2

The New Rules of Coffee book tour heads to the Crimson Cup Innovation Lab in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, December 2. Sprudge Founders Zachary Carlsen and Jordan Michelman will be chatting about their book, signing copies available for sale and drinking delicious coffee with fans between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Innovation Lab, 700 Alum Creek Drive just south of Bexley.

Free and open to the public, the event will feature demonstrations of coffee brewing, tasting and sourcing as well as food for purchase from Broke Johnny Food Truck. Attendees will have an opportunity to sample Crimson Cup's award-winning coffees. Representatives from Third Wave Water, Modbar and Bunn will also demonstrate their coffee products and equipment.

"We're excited to host our friends from the world's most popular coffee publication, Sprudge, and celebrate their first book," said Innovation Lab Manager Nate Bell. "This event will provide educational opportunities for our community to taste all the special characteristics of specialty coffee."

The Crimson Cup Innovation Lab is the only Premier Training Campus in Ohio certified by the Specialty Coffee Association. It contains classrooms and laboratories designed to teach coffee professionals and consumers about the finer elements of roasting, brewing, tasting and preparing coffee.

Divided into three sections (At Home, At the Cafe, and Around the World), The New Rules of Coffee covers the basics of brewing and storage, cafe etiquette and essential information about coffee production and coffee culture around the world.

"We invite local coffee lovers to come witness these rules come alive in our Application Lab, Cupping Lab, Classroom and Café," Bell said.

From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Carlsen and Michelman will be available for book signings while the Crimson Cup team illustrates various rules from their book as outlined below. Demonstrations and educational discussions will occur throughout the Lab during these two hours, allowing visitors to freely attend all four sessions. During the final hour between 2 and 3 p.m., the authors will read from their book and take questions from the audience.
