Out Now: Avian Invasion Releases “Carnival of Animals” (Bass Rebels)

Whimsical. Electric. Stirring. Read news here.

Avian Invasion's "Carnival of Animals" is pure delight for electronic dance music (EDM) lovers of all feathers. Instantly grabbing the listener with an accordion riff, the song possesses a ripping bassline and a warm, thick 4/4 beat. The male vocal lead is sung by Avian Invasion himself and the original song demonstrates the artist's skill as a music producer. "Carnival of Animals" pays homage to Avian Invasion's legions of fans – known collectively as "the invasion" – who come out to see him perform at geek culture conventions including those where attendees come dressed as human-sized animals, a practice also known as 'cosplay.' "Carnival of Animals" could easily be plucked from the soundtrack of an animated short, such is its all-ages, electronic music appeal. The rapid-fire synths and gently monstrous bassline on this impossibly catchy song ensure that it lingers in one's head for days.

About Avian Invasion

Avian Invasion (real name: Matthew Ebel) is an American electronic dance music ("EDM") singer, songwriter, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist well known on the geek culture circuit where he is frequently booked to perform as a live act at their conventions. Based in Seattle, WA, the Avian Invasion alias refers to Ebel's bird-masked persona, with his fans affectionately referred to as "the invasion." Known for his enigmatic, future-science philosophy, Avian Invasion is well loved for his energetic live performances. His musical style encompasses elements of trance and progressive-house. Influenced by electronic music artists including Above & Beyond, Deadmau5, Odesza, Rezz, Ben Folds, The Guess Who and futurists like BT (Brian Transeau), Avian Invasion strives to engage audiences with his original productions as well as with his custom remixes. Whether he is performing as a DJ or as a multi-disciplinary artist playing keyboards, a keytar, percussion and singing, Avian Invasion seeks to present modern dance music to a like-minded and receptive audience. With a keen set of music production skills honed by thousands of hours in the recording studio and a cocked eye toward the distant future, Avian Invasion leads the charge to where no bird has flown before.
