Point Source Youth, a national organization dedicated to ending youth homelessness, has released a 118-page Host Homes Handbook containing the tools a community needs to launch host homes, a successful intervention being implemented across the country to end youth homelessness. Point Source Youth works with local communities to support and launch host homes, rapid rehousing, and family strengthening programs to end youth homelessness with a special focus on supporting LGBTQ youth.
The Host Homes Handbook contains information on host home recruiting and screening, matching hosts with youth experiencing homelessness, hiring program staff, trainings for hosts on supporting marginalized youth, and more. The Host Homes Handbook is free and available online: https://www.pointsourceyouth.org/host-homes/

Host Homes mobilize community resources and caring adults and communicate to youth that their community cares and is putting that care into action by literally opening the doors to their homes.
