Eleven Students Recognized with 2018 Exceptional Youth Scholarship Award from The Foundation for Global Sports Development

The Foundation for Global Sports Development has selected 11 students to receive the 2018 Exceptional Youth Scholarship. Reserved for college-bound high school seniors, the scholarship recognizes students who have displayed a remarkable dedication to volunteerism and community service while also maintaining a stellar academic record.

"We had a record-setting number of applicants this year, with over 550 students submitting scholarship applications," said David Ulich, GSD Executive Board Member. "While each applicant was impressive in their own way, 11 students stood out to us as outstanding."

Dr. Steven Ungerleider, GSD Executive Board Member added, "From day one GSD has placed a high priority on education. We support many organizations that help young children and teens thrive in education, and we also we want to encourage young adults to continue their education into college. With the 2018 Exceptional Youth Scholarship, these students are able to do so without excessive financial burden."

Each scholarship recipient has been awarded $5,000 to be used towards their 2018-2019 tuition and expenses at a four-year university or college.
