Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery (PODD) Announces Keynotes for the 8th Annual Event

The Conference Forum announces the keynote-speaking faculty for the 8th annual Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery (PODD) conference to be held at the Westin Copley Place in Boston on October 17-18, 2018.

Opening the 8th annual event with a year-in-review on new science, deals, and technologies is Roche's Global Business Development Director for Roche Partnering Innovation and PODD Conference Chair, Barbara Lueckel, PhD.

David H Koch Institute Professor at MIT, Robert Langer, PhD will provide the opening annual keynote and will, for the first time, sit with veteran investor Amy Schulman to discuss what makes drug delivery technologies and deals successful as well as what unmet needs remain.

Ms Schulman has overseen Pfizer's acquisition of Wyeth and led Pfizer's large Consumer Healthcare business. She is the co-founder and CEO of Lyndra and venture Partner at Polaris Partners, and has also managed various start-ups focused on drug delivery systems. More info here.

Jeffrey Karp, PhD, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Laboratory for Accelerated Medical Innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospital will provide the bioinspirational keynote. Dr Karp is a leading researcher in the fields of drug delivery, medical devices, stem cell therapeutics, and tissue adhesives.

Also keynoting is Justin Wright, PhD, Global Head of Innovation at Novartis. Dr Wright leads the drug development process for biologics and small molecules at Novartis. He has developed models and partnerships in drug delivery innovation and has commercialized drug delivery systems for the biotech, vaccine, and pharmaceutical industries.
