Voting Begins for Northern Tier “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” Pilot Year

Public online voting polls for Northern Tier's "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" (WSCM) Student Video Contest will open Wednesday, April 3, 12:01am and run until Friday April 5, 11:59 pm on the http://www.whatssocool.org website. Everyone throughout the community of Pennsylvania's Northern Tier Region is welcome and encouraged to vote! Read latest news here.

In their pilot season, two awards will be handed out, one for the popular vote winner from the online voting and the other for the overall best video. Winners will be unveiled during the awards ceremony on April 11, 2019.

"We're excited to see the results of all the hard work the students put into their videos and the voter turnout since this our first year in the WSCM program," says Frank Thompson, Deputy Director of Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission (NTRPDC). "The manufacturers in the community have really been great to work with and really collaborated with the students. It'll really be great for everyone in the community to see their work and get to vote."

Presented by the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission (NTRPDC), the WSCM Student Video Contest, gives 8th grade students in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties the opportunity to connect directly with local manufacturers, discover what is "cool" about today's manufacturing industry and record their experiences through documentary video production. The students are able to gain new perspectives and experiences then present them in an educational way. The contest was created to generate excitement that draws students toward considering manufacturing career paths to create a 21st century workforce.

‘Love + Fear’ Simplifies Brand Strategy and Teaches Businesses How to Draw Buyers In

Shantini Munthree's new marketing and consumer behavior book, "Love + Fear: Mastering the Primal Motives of Buyers" (published by Archway Publishing), focuses on the simple notion that all motivation exists on a love-fear continuum.

Be alert to read related news.:

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/mothers-day-comes-with-triple-bonus-for.html

The book makes the case that brands are able to position themselves along a love-fear spectrum. Munthree draws from psychology, neuroscience and philosophy to introduce a new brand framework. The author argues that when marketers concentrate on the buyer's motivation, and not just the expressions of these motives, they're able to connect with buyers and activate them. "Love + Fear" encourages brands to think and be bigger in the roles they play in buyers' lives. It outlines the six roles of brands and how use these for bigger impact. Munthree also introduces two new concepts for conscious branding efforts — macro affections, big movements of love, and macro inflictions, big destructive forces of fear.

"By using the 'Love + Fear' model, a brand can cut to the chase on what will move their buyers. And if done well, any brand — from a small start-up to a large heritage brand — could be both financially successful and a force for good," says Munthree.
