Independent Recording Artist and Producer Sam Elliott (The IIIrd) Releases First Single "Thank You"

Louisville native and veteran music producer Sam Elliott – a.k.a The IIIrd – has released his brilliant debut single "Thank You." Be alert to the latest news.

Record producer Sam Elliott is finding that speaking the truth is the antidote to life's struggles. His brand new single, "Thank You," is a stark reminder of the ease at which distrust and unfaithfulness can find its way into the strongest relationships. The IIIrd sings, "Even though when times get rough, I never turned away. I was right there,'' we are given a front-row seat for one couple's realization that their relationship is irreparable. With a cameo by the University of Louisville anthem kingpin, BSIMM, this track takes the listener along for a soulful and multi-layered ride of unwavering love, pain, and ultimate heartbreak.

His continuing journey of artistry modeled after pure genuine connection and soulful R&B music is a vehemently earnest testimony to his strength as an artist and the song's message – one which will continue to resonate with his fan base, encouraged by his multifarious range of talents.

Speaking about the track, Elliott says: "I don't care if it's heartbreak if it's love, even a terrible event. It needs to be spoken about. My music won't be for everybody, but many will love it because it's simply good music. My music will be a pure reflection of me, filled with a mixture of blues, hip hop, and R&B."

Listen to "Thank You" here.

About The IIIrd:

Born and raised in the West End of Louisville, Sam Elliott began playing music when he was just six years old. He moved on to study Music Theory and became a fan of orchestral music. As a youth, Elliott embraced solitude, opting to spend his days reading, writing, and learning music at home rather than engaging with normal childhood shenanigans. He has composed and produced music across every genre - from Hip Hop and R&B, to Rock, Country, EDM, and Pop. In addition, he has worked with multiple artists and labels over the years at Interscope, Sony, DreamWorks, Bad Boy, and many more.

Christmas is a time when "wishes come true" and in honor of that sentiment, the staff at Kovels.com would like to share its own holiday wish list. The guidelines were simple: What would they want as a gift if money was no object? Staff members used Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2020 as their own "wish book." The all-new 52nd edition features 16,000 prices, 2,500 photographs, 500 factory marks to identify and date antiques, as well as a special new section – "Collecting Trends: Iconic Designers of Twentieth-Century Furniture." Their comments and the selling prices for their choices are included for reading pleasure! Grab a cup of hot chocolate, a Kovels' price guide, and start dreaming. Read related news now.

Terry Kovel:
"Many years ago, I saw a Martin Escher (1898-1972) print of birds and fish that seemed to change on the page. I was fascinated at the whole idea of a tessellation picture that kept changing perspective. When I started teaching math, I saw more prints, often called "impossible drawings," and I searched for an original print. But the $100 price was too much for my budget. The prints got more popular and the prices got higher. The Escher print in the Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2020 is the birds and fish. It is now $37,500 so, once again, I didn't buy it. It's just one of the things I have always wanted and didn't buy that got more costly each year, even though we always say, If you like it, buy it." Price: $37,500

Kim Kovel:
"My choice is the 1930 Muncie Rombic vase, matte blue over green glaze. It would look perfect with flowers in my breakfast room. I like the geometric shape and that it is from Muncie, Indiana, where my uncle and cousins lived." Price: $420

Gay, the "mother of Kovels' annual price guide":
"I would love a Shirley Temple doll. I always wanted one as a child, but they were too expensive, so I got a substitute doll at Christmas." Price: $3,335

Susan, editor, Kovels On Antiques & Collectibles newsletter:
"I love the color blue and ever since reading our stories on bottle collecting, I've been obsessed with antique and vintage blue bottles. I love this blue flask from 1848-1855." Price: $4,800

Janet, Kovels' graphic designer:
"A paperweight, glass with flower bouquets by Ysart. I love colored glass and have always been fascinated by glass paperweights, their intricate detail, and the level of skill involved in the making of them." Price: $448

Cherrie, copy editor:
"I've always liked pie safes because of the punched-tin panels. I can think of lots of uses for them today for items in the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom." Price: $4,388

Liz, associate editor:
"An Adrian Pearsall Lounge Chair caught my eye. It fuses sleek anatomical design with comfort. I would give it to my daughter, who is putting together an apartment. It is a great, comfortable statement-y piece." Price: $1,750

Jacquie, accounting:
"I loved the Creamware Coffee Pot, c.1790, from England. It has a beautiful molded spout and acorn knob. It is an elegant way to serve coffee – even tea! – and impress my guests." Price: $1,476

Hamsy, Kovels' marketing expert:
"A Danish Modern chair designed by Finn Juhl (1912-1989) caught my eye. I love the clean modern design so much and the color of the wood. I bought replicas, similar designs, for my dining table chairs." Price: $5000 Continue reading.

ONEder Releases Free Anti-Vaping Course to Help Schools Address Vaping Crisis

ONEder, a leading EdTech curriculum company, has launched "The Real Deal About Vaping and Tobacco," a free course that educates young adults about the physical effects of all forms of tobacco use; including vaping, smoking, and chewing. The course was developed based on open-source resources such as the CDC, SmokeFree, American Lung Association, and others. In this course, students will explore ways to stop using tobacco, if they started, and ways to say no to tobacco products.

Schools throughout the country are experiencing an increase in teen vaping and are struggling to minimize this widespread phenomenon. Vaping is highly addictive and so easy to conceal that students are even doing it right in their classrooms. To support educators in preventing students from vaping and helping students quit tobacco products, ONEder is providing their anti-vaping and tobacco course for free to educators throughout the country. "We pride ourselves on taking a Whole Child approach to learning through our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum for all high school students and our Transition Curriculum that prepares students with disabilities for life after high school. Providing educators the resources they need to prevent vaping and tobacco use aligns with our mission of supporting student success in all areas of life," says Jon Izak, CEO of ONEder.

A 2018 study shows that vaping is on the rise for high school students, and a recent rise in medical emergencies connected to vaping demonstrates a need for awareness. As of November 5, 2019, the CDC reported 2,051 lung injury cases and 39 deaths associated with the use of e-cigarette products. Our new online course - available November 18th- will help alert students to the dangers of vaping and tobacco use. "The Real Deal About Vaping and Tobacco" was developed in the hopes of decreasing the number of young adults who vape, preventing further illness and deaths, and to help teenagers live a smokefree life. Continue reading.

ONEder was founded in 2011 with the mission of combining research-based instruction with cutting-edge technology to support educators and their students. The company was initially inspired by Izak's younger brother with autism to support students with disabilities. "Many of the reasons why teenagers have a hard time quitting are lack of support and resources. Our online content acts both as support and resources to those teenagers that need it. The Real Deal About Vaping and Tobacco provides students with online content that can be used on a smart device, either in the classroom or at home. Our team, at ONEder, hopes that having access to a course like ours will help young adults live in a smokefree world," says Cristina Garro, Content Developer at ONEder.

ShapeShift Launches Ledger Integration: Users Can Now Take Advantage of Zero-Commission Crypto Trading

ShapeShift, one of the world's leading self-custody crypto exchanges, announced today that its much anticipated integration with Ledger Nano S devices is now live on the ShapeShift Platform. Ledger Nano S users can plug their hardware wallet into ShapeShift.com and enjoy zero-commission crypto trading from their device. They also receive 100 FOX tokens after signup.

The integration gives Ledger Nano S users free access to ShapeShift's simple web interface and powerful dashboard for portfolio management. Users can track, send, receive, and secure their crypto without an account at Beta.ShapeShift.com. Users can also buy and trade crypto with a verified account. Read here.

"The crypto revolution is meaningless if people don't control their own keys," said ShapeShift founder and CEO, Erik Voorhees. "Ledger's hardware wallet is the most popular in the world. Now, Ledger Nano S owners can plug directly into the new ShapeShift Platform, earn 100 FOX tokens and take advantage of the industry's only free crypto-to-crypto trading option. We hope this further encourages people away from custodial alternatives."

Having pioneered a self-custody model with its original crypto trading service, the new ShapeShift.com expands that same ethos into an integrated web platform for digital asset management. Users retain complete control of their crypto assets and private keys through their hardware wallet, but now have the convenience and ease-of-use typically found in centralized solutions.

"Both Ledger and ShapeShift uniquely understand the importance of crypto users having complete control of their digital assets and private keys, which makes this partnership a perfect fit," said Ledger's CEO Pascal Gauthier. "This integration gives Ledger users free access to ShapeShift's platform, providing yet another option for managing their assets with the security peace of mind that Ledger is known for."

The Ledger integration for Nano S comes as the latest feature addition to the ShapeShift Platform. In November, ShapeShift brought zero commission trading to its platform through its highly anticipated FOX token. Each FOX token provides $10 of free trading volume on a rolling 30-day basis. The tokens aren't spent or consumed; customers hold them in their wallets. New users can create an account in minutes and receive 100 FOX tokens, enabling $1,000 of commission free trading every 30 days.
