KnowBe4 Finds Email Subject Lines Focused on Security-Minded End Users are Effective

KnowBe4, the provider of the world's largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, revealed the results of its Q3 2019 top-clicked phishing report. More info here.

The results found that simulated phishing tests with an urgent message to check a password immediately were most effective, with 43% of users falling for it. Social media messages are another area of concern when it comes to phishing. Within the same report, KnowBe4's top-clicked social media email subjects reveal that LinkedIn messages are the most popular at 48%, followed by Facebook at 37%.

Rounding out its quarterly reviews, in Q3 2019, KnowBe4 examined tens of thousands of email subject lines from simulated phishing tests. The organization also examined 'in-the-wild' email subject lines that show actual emails users received and reported to their IT departments as suspicious. The results are below.

The Top 10 Most-Clicked General Email Subject Lines Globally for Q3 2019 include:

**Email subject lines are a combination of both simulated phishing templates created by KnowBe4 for clients, and custom tests designed by KnowBe4 customers.

When investigating 'in-the-wild' email subject lines, KnowBe4 found the most common throughout Q3 2019 included:

City of Peekskill and FUJIFILM Announce Take a Peek: Peekskill Printlife Photo Exhibition

The City of Peekskill and FUJIFILM North America Corporation have announced an open call for photos as part of their Take a Peek: Peekskill Printlife Photo Exhibition. Those who live and/or work in Peekskill are invited to submit their favorite photo highlighting the City for a chance to win a FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 9 instant camera and be featured in the fall photo exhibit at the Peekskill Central Firehouse Community Room.

Submissions for the Take a Peek: Peekskill Printlife Photo Exhibition are being accepted through Thursday, November 14 via an online form at: https://bit.ly/2mWao0T. Up to one hundred photos will be selected for display from the eligible entries. Twenty prize winners will also be randomly chosen from all eligible entries to win one of the instant cameras valued at $69.95.

Correlation One, in Partnership with the Government of Colombia, launches ‘Data Science for All’ Training Program

On October 9th, 2019, Correlation One and MINTIC (Colombia's Ministry of Information & Communication Technology) launched a nationwide program to train 300 of the country's top technologists and data professionals. The program was launched under Correlation One's global 'Data Science for All' initiative (DS4A), whose stated mission is to democratize the field of data science and increase data literacy globally. Over 10,000 professionals across Colombia applied to the program. Participants were selected based on technical proficiency (measured by Correlation One's Data Science Assessments platform), academic credentials, and relevant work experience. More info here.

The partnership between Correlation One and MINTIC was forged as the Colombian government ramps up efforts to create more tech jobs and satisfy the current demand for AI talent in Latin America. The partnership was facilitated by leaders at global venture capital investment firm, Softbank. The 10-week, 288-hour program will focus on job-readiness and industry-specific applications of data science, with a goal of preparing every participant for hands-on advanced data science careers.

The 300-person pilot program is taking place simultaneously across four cities: Bogota, Medellin, Cali, and Barranquilla. The training content will be delivered via a combination of livestream and Correlation One's online training platform. Live video lessons will be led by Professor Natesh Pillai, Correlation One's Chief Scientist and tenured professor of Statistics at Harvard University.

At the end of the 10-week training, participants, in small teams, will present their own original data science projects to Latin America's top technology employers, corporations like Softbank, Avianca, Ecopetrol and Rappi.
