Veritas Collaborative Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary of Atlanta’s Only Multidisciplinary Eating Disorder Clinic

Veritas Collaborative, a specialty healthcare system for the treatment of eating disorders, today celebrates the two-year anniversary of its Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Clinic in Atlanta. The clinic is the state's only gender-diverse, multidisciplinary eating disorder clinic to provide comprehensive medical assessments that diagnose eating disorders and other conditions that may require medical intervention.

The Veritas Collaborative Atlanta Clinic saw more than 5,000 office visits in 2018, nearly doubling visits during its initial 11 months of operation in 2017. The organization also collaborated with a variety of providers, hospital systems and community organizations to provide enhanced education and support around a health concern that affects an estimated 30 million people nationwide.

"Two years ago we opened the Atlanta Clinic to work hand-in-hand with the community to positively impact the lives of young people of all genders and their families devastated by eating disorder illnesses in metro Atlanta and in the state of Georgia," said Stacie McEntyre, LCSW, CEDS, founder, president and CEO of Veritas Collaborative. "As we expand, we continue to strive for excellence with our collaborative approach, and I'm proud of our results. We are transforming a community with science-based, compassionate eating disorders care through increased access to medical, nutritional, and mental health services."

In the past two years, the Atlanta Clinic has truly impacted a community to create increased access to medical care for eating disorders where it did not exist before:

  • Intensive Outpatient Services: In addition to medical assessments, the clinic offers an Intensive Outpatient Program to ensure a broader continuum of levels of care in Georgia. This program, which started as a small group of three in October of 2017, has grown to a steady group of 12-14 patients.
  • Outpatient Services: Patients stepping down from higher levels of care need treatment to maintain use of the skills learned in treatment. This lower level of care provides a supportive environment to ensure an individual's continued recovery. Individuals receive treatment with licensed professionals housed under one roof in one clinic. Multidisciplinary treatment teams – made up of physicians, psychiatrists, dietitians, culinary professionals, therapists, nurses, and skilled therapeutic assistants – aim to equip individuals, families, and communities with the skills necessary to continue recovery in the home environment.
  • Multi-State Care: In two years of operations, the Atlanta Clinic has welcomed patients from a three-state area. Some patients drive six hours each way to continue care at the clinic. We are proud to provide them much needed access to care for their treatment of eating disorders.
  • Telemedicine: Always trying to drive the standard of care, the Atlanta Clinic made its first foray into telemedicine in 2018. This endeavor is so effective at improving access to care in distant locations that there is discussion to expand telehealth services for a broader range of program alumni.
  • In addition to the clinic's incredible accomplishments, Veritas Collaborative also opened the new, 50-bed Atlanta Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Hospital in 2018 to provide inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization services for those with eating disorders.

    Term4Sale.com – 5,000,000 Quotes and Counting

    For the past 20 years term life insurance shoppers have been able to use term4sale.com to instantly compare term life insurance quotes for products sold in the United States.

    Term4Sale.com was first introduced in the fall of 1998. Three years later, in January 2002, a counter was added to keep track of the growing number of visitors. In January 2019 term4sale.com served its 5 millionth visitor. That's an average of 300,000 visits per year since the counter was added but in the past 2 1/2 years term4sale traffic averaged about 400,000 visitors per year.

    Compulife manager Jeremiah Kuhn said, "5 million may seem like a small number, compared to a typical viral video on today's internet, but it's actually quite significant given that most consumers don't like to buy life insurance." Kuhn added, "Imagine if each of those 5,000,000 quotes resulted in a consumer saving an average of $10 per year on the cost of their term life insurance. That's 50 million dollars in annual premiums and over time it adds up to a lot of money".

    Compared to other term life insurance quotes on the web, term4sale.com is unique. Term4sale and its parent company Compulife do not sell insurance. Term4Sale uses the multi-company software created and maintained by Compulife which Compulife sells to agents who can then produce multi-company life insurance quotes from a database of over 100 companies. No other software offers more life insurance companies.

    Compulife president Bob Barney said that while there are many other sites that purport to offer term life quotes on the web, many have serious shortcomings. He stated, "With term4sale.com the visitor answers a single page of questions, clicks the "Compare Now" button and instantly gets the top 20 results from the over 100 companies in the Compulife database.     Barney added, "We don't give estimates, visitors see the actual premiums being charged by the life insurance companies based upon the amount, age, gender and smoking status. By contrast many similar sites on the web take a visitor through pages and pages of personal questions before the visitor discovers that someone will call them with a quote or they are given a non-specific range of prices. That's just frustrates Internet shoppers; term4sale gives prices immediately"

    Critics of term4sale believe consumers need to provide additional information so that they can better determine which premium, from a range of health classifications, they can qualify for. Term4sale offers a "Health Analyzer" option that permits further refinement of results based upon additional information such as height and weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and other related health criteria. But that's something the consumer has the option to do after they see actual premiums.

    Barney explained, "We believe that once a consumer has an idea of price they really need to talk to an agent. Life insurance can be complicated and a good life agent can provide a lot of guidance as to what products offer what benefits, how much to buy and which company is best suited for a particular situation." He added, "Agents are paid from the commissions built into the products which are sold at non-negotiable prices. Why not use an agent when the price is the same either way?"

    Originally concepted by Krisstina Wise of Goodlife Luxury, and developed and produced by the Modern Architecture + Design Society (MA+DS), the Austin Modern Home Tour is entering its second decade of modern architecture events. The annual celebration gives local architects, designers, home builders, and developers the unique opportunity to showcase their skill and talent to the community in which they work. In turn, the self-guided tour gives the community a rare chance to explore some of Austin's amazing modern homes inside and out, while asking questions and engaging the minds behind the design.

    New for 2019 is the Mid-Century Modern Block Party presented and sponsored by Starlight Village. The party starts at 3PM on tour day and features several additional homes to explore, plus food and drink.     NFL Super Bowl Survey Unveils Consumer Television Commercial Viewing Preferences

    NicerShoes.com, the online footwear shopping comparison platform, today released a NFL Super Bowl research report that determines the commercial viewing preferences of consumers all over the United States. With help from research firm 3Gem, NicerShoes surveyed 2,000 people, half of them men, half women, all from different regions of the country. The survey indicates that 77.1% voted that politically-charged ads are not at all compelling. But 60% voted that funny ads motivated them to buy immediately.

    "One of the best parts of the Super Bowl is the commercial advertisements, and we wanted to gauge consumer's viewing tendencies ahead of February 3 game between the Patriots and the Rams," said Tabitha Armbruster, Head of Operations at NicerShoes.com. "The biggest takeaways from our survey indicate that consumers prefer humorous versus political commercials, and that product endorsements don't always move the needle."

    It turns out that Nike's endorsement of Kaepernick didn't really motivate the way one might think. 61.8% of respondents say they'd be less motivated to make a purchase if a celebrity was featured in a commercial. It also turns out that are emotionally charged have a mixed response. About 45% voted that yes, emotionally charged ads are a checkbook-peeler, and roughly the same amount voted no.     1. 39.4% are not particularly motivated to buy things during the super bowl.
    2. 83% said that commercials for dating apps don't motivate them to download for later usage.

    WeatherTech and PetComfort in for Sixth Year as Super Bowl Advertiser

    Automotive accessory manufacturer WeatherTech will run its 45-second commercial titled Scout during the first half of CBS' broadcast of Super Bowl 53, February 3, 2019, to be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

    In its sixth year as a Super Bowl advertiser, the company will be making the official debut of its new PetComfort Feeding System. PetComfort is the brainchild of WeatherTech founder and CEO David MacNeil, whose dog, Scout, stars in the Super Bowl spot. MacNeil was inspired to create the pet feeding system after losing his last three dogs to cancer. Through his research as a pet lover, he learned that there can be harmful toxins in pet bowls that can contribute to pet illness.
