They're Back! Iconic Capsule Collection from Earth Kalso Shoes Meets The Extraordinary Demand

It's been a long time. Too long, many consumers would say. But that's only stoked the demand. Today Earth, Inc. Announced the release of the Iconic Capsule Collection from Earth Kalso—remakes of the original Kalso styles that became an icon for a generation. Read related news here.

"People have been asking us for years to bring back the styles that became synonymous with comfort and wellness in the 1970s," says Philippe Meynard, president of Earth, Inc. "Some are loyalists from back in the day—but many are Millennials who've seen the shoes in vintage photos. We've got good news for everybody!"

The Capsule Collection to be released in January 2019 will feature three styles—two for women and one in both men's and women's sizes. The look is pure nostalgia, with clean lines and premium leathers, while the technology inside has been updated with modern, environmentally sustainable materials and the company's signature comfort system.

"The heart is in the same place, but in fifty years footwear has come a long way," explains Meynard. "The collection features a new and improved Powerpath Footbed Design made with technically advanced materials."

But does it have the iconic negative heel?

"Of course!" says Meynard. "We're calling it a Grounded Heel, and it delivers the same feel and even more comfort than the original that was developed by Anne Kalso in Denmark in the late 1950s. This is going to make a lot of people very, very happy."

One look at the Kalso Facebook page confirms Meynard's prediction. Countless comments like, "I miss these shoes!", "Please make a classic line" and "Bring back the old design!!" make it clear that the demand is there.

Just in time for the Iconic Capsule Collection comes a new EarthShoes.com website, where consumers can find the three iconic styles—along with a heavy hit of nostalgia from 1970s photos.

"Earth Kalso a nostalgic brand, but also a very modern one," concludes Meynard. "It's for everyone who appreciates feeling great."

2019 Workplace Predictions: Organizations Eager to Tackle Challenges Brought on by Changing Workforce Dynamics

Fierce Conversations, a training company that teaches you how to have effective conversations, today released its 2019 workforce predictions. There is no doubt that the makeup of organizations is rapidly shifting as baby boomers retire while millennials and Gen Z take over the majority of new jobs. With this fountain of youth comes a fearless, public and often tactless communication style, which is impacting the workplace in real ways.

"At Fierce, we help companies and individuals talk about what they truly need to talk about -- tackling their toughest challenges and building relationships in the process," said Stacey Engle, President of Fierce Conversations. "This year's predictions highlight a growing awareness of the need to address problems head on – which a new generation of workers has thrust into the spotlight."

Read related news here.:

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/04/pixel-film-studios-unveils-prodicator.html

Fierce predicts the following trends will take top priority in the New Year:

1. Increased accountability for corporate bad behavior. Over the past few years companies seem to be plagued with worsening scandals, dubious leadership practices and unethical decisions. As organizations navigate these issues in 2019, many will realize that sweeping problems under the rug or ignoring them altogether are not real solutions. Leaders will work to gain a deeper understanding and connection to the people who make up their organization. This means the popularity of employee training and engagement programs will rise and cover a wide range of topics such as diversity, unconscious bias, ethics and inclusion.

2. Fewer organizations will suffer from a "culture of nice." This is a problem the Fierce team hears time and time again from their clients around the world. In these environments, no truly productive feedback is given. People are afraid to disagree or speak up, refuse to address problems and rarely challenge the status quo. A culture of "nice" lends itself to a host of challenges including lack of trust, higher turnover, and lower productivity—none of which are actually "nice." As organizations continue to improve their conversations skills as it pertains to feedback, and as younger workers vocalize their desire for more frequent feedback, the number of organizations who suffer from this type of culture will decrease in the coming year.

3. Generation Z will no longer be ignored. An estimated 61 million Gen Zs will apply for jobs in the U.S. next year, many entering the workforce for the first time. Organizations will be forced to adjust to this new reality in 2019, and in order to be successful, will need to find innovative ways to invest more heavily in their training from the get-go. Fierce believes the New Year will be an area of growth in this regard, as organizations figure out the best way to engage with this new generation. A part of this will no doubt be providing the right resources to this tech-savvy generation to help them succeed both in the short and long term.

4. Companies will move away from hierarchy and towards more agile teams. Organizations are starting in earnest to understand that strategic alignment is key to their success, and the best way to achieve it is to ensure the company is flexible and responsive at every level. There will be a shift away from teams interacting only at the highest echelons within an organization, and towards a more integrated and collaborative approach. With this shift will come an increased need for communication skills, as it will be imperative that managers are well-versed in both delegation and decision making. By empowering teams with greater opportunities for collaboration, 2019 will result in higher productivity and employee engagement.

5. Progress will be made on digital transformations. While most organizations have been slowly integrating digital components across many areas of their business, 2019 will be the year where real progress is made. Organizations will spend more time focused on truly understanding the needs of the end user—be it employees, clients or customers—and in turn, work with their IT departments to ensure these needs are being met. Innovation is no longer a luxury; without adopting and staying on top of digital trends, organizations will become obsolete.

Be alert to read related news.:

"While company leaders may feel they aren't ready for some of these shifts, the good news is that in the long run, everyone will benefit by proactively embracing these particular changes," continued Engle. "The key to their successful implementation will in part lie in how they are communicated, which will be determined one conversation at a time." Click here to read the latest news.

Current Music Scores A Strike With The Theme Song For Pro Bowling on Fox Sports

Fox Sports has called on their trusted relationship with Current Music, to create the new theme song for the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). The theme will be used for the PBA Tour and associated programming on Fox, FS1 and Fox Sports Go.

An exciting new multi-year relationship was forged between Fox Sports and the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Fox will be the new television partner for the Go Bowling! PBA Tour beginning in 2019 and will be broadcasting the PBA tour games and extensive programming across their channels and platforms.

To sound off the games and complimentary programming, Fox brought on Current Music to create a new twist on the Fox Football Theme. Producer Maddie Madsen worked with composer Aram Mandossian on creating a heavy metal version in the initial direction. After the Fox production team passed the idea around, they requested a few different styles as they considered what the bowling audience would appreciate. Versions included country, Southern rock, 80s arena rock and Americana. After much consideration, Fox producers finally decided to scrap this idea altogether and asked that Mandossian keep his originally composed elements used in one of the versions, remove references to the football theme entirely and create a completely original piece in order to uniquely brand the package.

The premiere the PBA Clash is on Sunday, December 23rd at *2:30 PM ET / *4:30 PM ET *Depending on location

Besides the PBA, Current Music has created original theme songs as well as opening title pop songs for a number of Fox Sports programs. In addition to the PBA theme, Aram Mandossian worked with Current Music for FS1's "NFL Kickoff", as well as a piece for the 2018 Winter Olympics, with singer Brooke Villanyi, which was used throughout the games.

Large-Scale Study Identifies Shared Genetic Architecture for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Diagnosis

In the largest genetic analysis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) performed to date, an international consortium, including researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, conducted a whole genome association study to identify common genetic architecture for different diagnostic criteria used to define the syndrome. The results are available online in the December 19 issue of the journal PLOS Genetics.

PCOS is among the most common endocrine disorders in reproductive-age women; it is a leading cause of infertility and type 2 diabetes. The origin of PCOS is unknown. It is currently diagnosed based on different sets of clinical criteria, which is controversial and possibly less accurate.

The researchers explored the genetic basis of PCOS by conducting a meta-analysis of seven whole-genome association studies involving more than 10,000 women with PCOS and 100,000 controls of European ancestry. These studies included 2,540 patients diagnosed using the National Institutes of Health criteria (high testosterone and irregular menstrual cycles); 2,669 patients using the Rotterdam criteria (high egg production); and 5,184 self-reported cases from the personal genetics company 23andMe. Read all the latest news.

With the benefit of this sample size, researchers were able to identify 14 gene variants that were associated with PCOS, including three that were identified for the first time. All the new genetic variants plausibly linked to both metabolic and reproductive features of PCOS.

"One of our most important findings is simply that all the fighting that goes on in the field over which diagnostic criteria to use is unnecessary," said Andrea Dunaif, MD, Chief of the Hilda and J. Lester Gabrilove Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and one of the senior authors of the study. "We can be pretty broad in our diagnosis with the criteria we have and be assured we are going to find the same genetic forms of PCOS."

Additional analyses provided further insight into the biology of PCOS. There was evidence that the genetic pathways identified in this study are also linked to other conditions, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, menopause, and depression. In addition, the researchers found for the first time that there are some links to male pattern baldness. The association between PCOS and male-pattern balding is particularly intriguing since it is the first genetic evidence for shared disease biology in men. The genetic link with depression supports epidemiologic studies that have found an increased risk for depression in women with PCOS.

"This study also indicates the enormous power of genome-wide association studies to provide insight into the disease. For the first time, we're making real progress on understanding the causal pathways leading to PCOS and the diseases that are genetically related to it," added Dr. Dunaif, an international authority on the disease.

Ultimately, Dr. Dunaif hopes that these biologic insights will enable the development of novel therapies for PCOS.

This work was developed through the international collaboration among 50 institutions. The International PCOS Consortium received funding from a number of organizations, including the National Institutes of Health, European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program and National Institute of Health Research Biomedical Researcher Centre.

Additionally, the kits include a modified map of the Aquarium that indicates "headphone zones," as well as areas with a more calm and secure atmosphere. The kits can be checked out at the Aquarium's Information Desk located just inside the main entrance.

"Our organization prides itself on engaging our audiences to connect them to water, wildlife and wild places," said Brian Thill, South Carolina Aquarium director of education. "We are thrilled to lead the way and to implement this national program to provide the best visitor experience possible to individuals and families that visit the South Carolina Aquarium."

Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD and other similar conditions. KultureCity has certified more than 130 facilities nationwide, helping each destination become more welcoming of guests with sensory sensitivities by promoting and teaching sensory inclusion for all ages.
