VPNetworks LLC Announces the Release of How-to Protect Your Business from Hackers

VPNetworks LLC has published an informative infographic entitled "How-to Protect Your Business from Hackers" to educate the business world on the importance of protection against hackers.

With this infographic, VPNetworks LLC offers insight on why businesses should have safeguards against hacking in place. To correctly educate people on the dangers of hacking, the infographic covers computer hacking statistics, signs a business has been hacked, and tips to protect a business from hacking.

Thousands of computers are hacked each day, and over half of network intrusions and data breaches are due to compromised user credentials. Employees should be on the lookout for signs of a hack including network activity outside of normal hours and a rise in the amount of DNS traffic. To protect a business against hackers, train employees on safe practices including never emailing sensitive information and using random passwords for account logins. All data should be consistently backed up, and companies should assess and fix weak spots in their network.

"Hacking is the danger businesses should be most worried about," said VPNetworks LLC CEO Benjamin Van Pelt. "When hackers reach inside a computer network, they have access to all of the information. Thankfully, measures can be taken to prevent hacking, and all companies should have protection against hackers in place."

About VPNetworks LLC

Springboard Launches First AI / Machine Learning Course With a Job Guarantee

Springboard, a fast-growing online education provider with a mission to bridge the world's skills gap, has launched its AI / Machine Learning Career Track, aimed at helping professionals with software engineering backgrounds become machine learning engineers.

"Our courses are focused on skills-gap industries where demand for talent is outstripping supply," said Springboard CEO and co-founder Gautam Tambay. "The mainstream adoption of AI-driven products coupled with ever-bigger bets by tech and tech-adjacent companies has led to an AI talent shortage that won't be alleviated for years. We are uniquely positioned to bridge that gap."

Consider this:

All of that is driving AI pay sky high. Machine learning engineers earn an average salary between $125,000 and $175,000. Salaries at the 10 highest-paying companies for AI engineers start above $200,000 a year.

Springboard's new AI / Machine Learning Career Track is an intensive course that will equip students to transition into these exciting, in-demand, highly compensated roles.

What makes this program unique? It is the first AI/ML course with a job guarantee. With support from Springboard's career services team (including mock interviews and career-focused curriculum modules), graduates will find a job within six months of completing the course—or their tuition will be refunded. (Springboard has long offered this to graduates of its flagship Data Science Career Track course and has yet to issue a refund.)

And while graduate programs and other online courses focus on AI/ML concepts, Springboard emphasizes hands-on learning. Of the estimated 400 hours of work it takes to complete the course, more than 100 hours go toward capstone projects (with many other smaller projects throughout). During this program, students will build and deploy large-scale AI systems.

All of Springboard's courses include one-on-one mentoring from a professional in the field. In this case, that means AI experts from companies like Google, Facebook, and Airbnb. In addition to project guidance, students get insight into the AI/ML interview process and the day-to-day responsibilities of a machine learning engineer.

Springboard has educated thousands of students in its intensive three-to-six-month courses in data science and business analytics and has students, alumni, and mentors in nearly 100 countries.

About Springboard
Springboard is a human-centric online school that offers extensive mentor-led learning for early- and mid-level professionals in data science and other new-economy fields where demand for talent exceeds supply. Springboard students receive one-on-one mentorship, individualized career counseling, and a uniquely human experience that leads to higher completion rates and job placements. Over 205,000 Demand An Increase In Type 1 Diabetes Cure Research Funding

More than 205,000 individuals have signed the 4th Annual More for a T1D Cure Petition, which calls on the largest diabetes organizations to significantly increase funding for type 1 diabetes cure research after spending on such initiatives hit a record low in 2015 and has remained mostly flat since then. Read news here.

An estimated two million Americans are affected by type 1 diabetes, and about half are diagnosed during childhood. Those living with the disease need multiple injections of insulin every single day and are on constant alert while monitoring blood sugar levels. The debilitating long term consequences of T1D can include eye, heart, nerve, and kidney failure.

Organized by the Juvenile Diabetes Cure Alliance (JDCA), the petition ran for 11 weeks and closed on November 18, 2018. This year's record participation is nearly double last year's turnout, representing the growing chorus of people who want the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the two largest diabetes fundraising organizations, to step up their focus on cure research.

"I signed for my 3 year old son, who was diagnosed last year," petition signer Rachel Hodsdon told the JDCA. "Diabetes is a horrible disease that affects the whole family. I am fighting for a cure, and I want it to happen sooner rather than later so my son can enjoy his life to the fullest."

Read this here.:

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/us-lead-network-now-offering.html

"Surpassing 200,000 signatures is a momentous accomplishment which clearly shows that people want their donations for type 1 diabetes to fund cure research over any other initiatives," said Phil Shaw, General Manager for the JDCA. "There will be no cure for type 1 diabetes in our lifetime, unless we see a drastic shift in the amount of money going toward cure research."

The ADA and JDRF have spent only a fraction of the money raised through fundraising efforts on cure research. For the 2017 fiscal year, JDRF spent only 38 percent of its income on cure research, and the ADA spent only 4 percent. On behalf of the petition signers, the JDCA seeks a formal commitment from these foundations to significantly increase spending on cure research.

First Avenue Gets Their Own Holiday Sweaters, With A Little Help From Their Friends

Just in time for the holidays, iconic Minneapolis music venue First Avenue has released two holiday sweaters. First Ave teamed up with fellow Minneapolis brand Ragstock, known for their eclectic clothing stores and world-class selection of Christmas sweaters, to create the garments.

One sweater sticks to the brand's classic styling, with a black base, white logo, and the famous white stars from the venue's facade adorning the sleeves—including one gold star in memory of Minneapolis' dearly beloved Prince. Although it's described as a 'holiday sweater', this design lends itself well to year-round wear.

The second sweater is more seasonal, with a red base, green contrasts, and a snowflake pattern. If you look closely, you can even see Santa and his reindeer flying over the Minneapolis skyline. Basically, it looks like something you'd expect to find at Ragstock in December.

The ugly Christmas sweater trend is bigger than ever, and the music industry has been no exception. "We've definitely noticed an uptick in bands releasing their own knits," said Zach Nagle, eCommerce Director at Ragstock. "With First Avenue being such a legendary venue, we thought they should have their own sweaters, too."

First Avenue was receptive to the partnership. "We love the idea of being able to share a piece of First Avenue with family and friends over the holidays," said Dayna Frank, owner of First Avenue, "and we don't take ourselves too seriously when it comes to our knitwear." More info here.

The black sweater can be pre-ordered now at First-Avenue.com, and will also be available at The Depot Tavern beginning Monday, Dec 3rd.

The red sweater is available exclusively from Ragstock. It can be pre-ordered now at Ragstock.com and will also be available at Twin Cities Ragstock stores beginning Wednesday, Dec 5th.

Martial Arts Board Game Goes from Kickstarter to Public Release

Gray Wolf Games founder and Wu Wei creator Justin Waggle, said "We've successfully fulfilled our Kickstarter campaign and now I'm really excited to have the game available for board game enthusiasts everywhere. It's the first ever board game that incorporates Taoist cosmology and martial arts principles."

In this game, "students" are led on a journey to earn five animal cards (representing the legendary five animals from Shaolin Kung Fu) while their master maintains their lineage and cultivates chi. Waggle designed the game for one to six players with games averaging about 45-90 minutes in length.

Wu Wei comes with three levels of play and an engaging solo campaign. At the highest level of the game, Waggle designed Wu Wei so it goes from symmetrical to asymmetrical as one player takes on the role of the emperor and works to unite his people under one banner.

The reviews from the board gaming community have been positive. Lance Myxter from Undead Viking Videos said, "Wu Wei presents the players with fun and interesting choices and it has a very open feel to it. I never felt hemmed in…is it fun? Yeah! Lots of fun!"

Be alert to the latest news.:

"Wu Wei is a rare game with the elegance of an abstract, yet every detail contains deep meaning," commented Teal Fristoe, who designed Corporate America and Shadow Throne.

The Gray Wolf Games website gives an overview of how to play; features a number of illustrations showing the game's board, cards, scenarios, and game pieces; and offers a free PDF download of the Wu Wei rulebook.

Waggle believes the game will appeal to a number of different groups, including board game players, martial artists, travelers on a spiritual path, as well as enthusiasts of Asian cultures. "Developing the game was a long process. I worked with a number of artists, designers and game developers along the way and sent prototypes out to people around the world to get their feedback," he explained.

"Games represent one of the best ways for communicating big ideas. They keep our minds active and open and provide a unique opportunity for interacting with one another. What could be better than having fun, hanging out with your friends, and unlocking the secrets of the universe?" Waggle asked.

Waggle founded Gray Wolf Games, LLC in 2017. The Wu Wei Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/graywolfgames/wu-wei-journey-of-the-changing-path) raised nearly $27,000 with almost 400 pledges. The game is now available for sale around the world and more details can be found on the Gray Wolf Games website (https://graywolfgames.com/wuwei/).

Downward Dog Wines Now Available to Consumers

TULSA, Okla.\ When Betsy Hendershot moved to Oklahoma, her sights were set on earning a degree in Finance from the University of Tulsa. Now, 20 years later she finds herself embedded in the Tulsa community - living in midtown, wife to business owner Bryan Hendershot, mother of two young children, active philanthropist for Tulsa Ballet and now the proud founder of Oklahoma's fastest growing boxed wine company, Downward Dog Wine.

With her active lifestyle in mind, Betsy was determined to create a product that was suited to her as well as the lifestyle of those around her. Betsy's desire to break the stigma of boxed wines was the driving force behind Downward Dog Wine. Boxed wine is not only environmentally friendly, it's more convenient to transport and once opened, the wine stays fresh for weeks unlike bottled wine. "There are fewer limitations to boxed wines," explains Betsy. "The consumer can use it for a single serving without feeling wasteful or use it to serve a party of twenty. Its versatility works with our lifestyles and most importantly you will like what you are drinking."

Unlike many boxed wines, Downward Dog Wine is hand harvested and uses single vineyard grapes. "We spent over a year looking for the right wine," says Betsy. "If I was going to put my name behind a product I had to love it." With expectations set high, Betsy and her team of tasters (that included anyone from experts to family members and friends who enjoy wine on a less serious level) found the perfect grapes in the cool, crisp air of the Pacific Northwest - Washington's award-winning Columbia Valley. The wine is offered in 7 different varieties: a Red Blend, a White Blend, Rosé, Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Priced at $17 to $19 per box, Downward Dog Wine can bring fun to any occasion while not breaking your budget.

With her label inspiration, four-year-old Cock-a-poo Lincoln, by her side, Betsy hopes that her wine will reach others like her. Fun loving, multi-tasking, environmentally conscious, active people who enjoy a glass of wine (or two) at the end of the day. Whether alone, or decompressing with friends, family or co-workers, Downward Dog Wine is the perfect wine selection for any occasion.

Downward Dog Wines are available in stores where wine is sold throughout Oklahoma and have recently launched into Kansas. For more information visit downwarddogwine.com. Downward Dog Wine is distributed by Boardwalk Distribution. Can't find Downward Dog Wine near you? Email info@dd.wine to request information or distribution to your local liquor store today.
