Terry Kovel the Subject of a National Edward R. Murrow Award-Winning Video

Antiques and collectibles expert Terry Kovel is the subject of an award-winning video, "A Peek Inside the Collectibles Empire of Terry Kovel," produced for WVIZ/Ideastream®, Cleveland's public television station. The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has just awarded David C. Barnett and Mary Fecteau of Ideastream with a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Video, Large Market Radio, after winning a Regional Edward R. Murrow award this past spring.

For more than 50 years, collectors across the country have turned to Terry Kovel for information on the identification, history and value of family treasures and antiques show and flea market finds. She is the well-known syndicated columnist, author of more than 100 books, and was featured on three TV series, all about antiques and collecting. The video was inspired by the publication of the 50th Anniversary Edition of "Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide," Kovel's best-selling annual book that reports on the antiques market.

The Cleveland, Ohio, resident welcomed David Barnett into the office she and her late husband, Ralph, added onto their 1950's house. Barnett and Terry take viewers on a tour, perusing the scores of antique toys, outdated kitchen gadgets, advertising items and various kinds of pottery that fill her shelves, while chatting about her 50-plus years of collecting and writing about collectibles. Be alert to read related news.

The RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Edward R. Murrow's pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name. New Bedford’s ProGroup Contracting Is Changing Industry Standards on Women in Construction

According to a 2016 study, it is recorded that women make up less than 10% of the construction industry in the United States. Compared to the national average of 9.1%, ProGroup's employee roster is almost 50% female with 17 women and 18 men.

"It isn't common for women in the construction industry to progress in their career, which is evident given that the national percentage of women in the industry make up just over 9%," says ProGroup Owner and President Dave Moura. "At ProGroup, that sentiment is quite the opposite. I have multiple women in leadership and management roles, many who have worked here from 5-20 years."

ProGroup is proud to employ a team of some of the most highly decorated women in the industry.

Sweet Zap is an innovative, one of a kind, conditioning tool. Sweet Zap can help you train your brain to say no sweets (sugar AND artificial sweeteners) once and forever. By safely and temporarily blocking the taste of sweets from unhealthy foods and drinks, the brain can be conditioned to stop craving them all together. Sweet Zap is an all-natural, herbal blend that is sprayed directly on the tongue before trying something sweet. The herbal blend fills the sweet receptors on the tongue preventing the activation of dopamine (the addiction neurotransmitter) from sugar and its artificial counterpart. Sweet Zap is easy to use and works immediately. As a conditioning tool, people have ended their sugar cravings by simply spraying Sweet Zap on the tongue and then trying the sweet they are craving.

Ms. Vohra immigrated to America in 2010 from India where she learned firsthand sugar's addictive hold over people. "I come from a culture where we ate sugary tea after every meal and sweets multiple times a day. Because of that, my father, who has type 2 diabetes, has struggled to stop eating sweets. Seeing how it affected his life, I knew he needed help. This is why I stand behind Seynani." Click here.

July 2 is National Report Military Fraud Day, founded by whistleblower advocate and former Department of Justice Attorney Joel D. Hesch

National Report Military Fraud Day is celebrated on July 2. National Report Military Fraud Day brings awareness to the amount of fraud against the military and teaches the public how to obtain a monetary reward for reporting it. Read news here.

Ten percent of military spending is lost due to fraud.* Because the Department of Defense is spending over $500 billion a year,** that means over $50 billion a year in military spending is lost to fraud. It's no wonder why we have a national economy crisis!
That's also why Congress authorized the Department of Justice (DOJ) to pay whistleblower rewards up to 30 percent of the amount it recovers based upon whistleblowers reporting fraud by any government contractor under any program, such as the military, DOD, Homeland Security, and Medicare.

Statistics for the DOJ whistleblower reward program***

National Report Military Fraud Day started in 2018. It was formed by Joel Hesch, a whistleblower attorney who spent over 15 years working in Department of Justice whistleblower reward office. While at DOJ, Mr. Hesch helped obtained over $1.2 billion in recoveries back for the government from those cheating the government and paid out hundred of millions in rewards to whistleblowers. Mr. Hesch formed his own law firm and now exclusively represents whistleblowers nationwide in filing for rewards for reporting fraud against the government, including government contractor fraud.

Free e-books addressing military fraud:

To help whistleblowers properly report fraud against the military, Mr. Hesch wrote a free e-book, available at this release or at the official web page for the national day. The free e-book addresses fraud against the military or homeland security. The free e-book also contain his personal contact information so that you can ask Mr. Hesch incomplete confidence to review a potential reward case. Mr. Hesch also has a website that explains what steps are necessary to be eligible for a whistleblower reward.

Celebrate National Report Government Contractor Fraud Day by downloading his free e-book to understand the various military fraud schemes and the Department of Justice (DOJ) whistleblower reward program.

Read here.:

Another way of celebrating National Military Fraud Day is sharing this day and web page with everyone so that the whole world can participate in stamping out military fraud. Only when fraud doers know that the public knows how to spot fraud against the military and can get a reward for reporting it will they think twice about ripping off our military.

How to report military fraud and received a monetary reward?

There are two very different ways of reporting military fraud, with two very different results.

    1. File for a Reward under the DOJ Whistleblower Reward Program Read all the latest news.

The first way to report military fraud is to have a whistleblower attorney, such as Mr. Hesch, help blow the whistle under the Department of Justice (DOJ) reward program, which pays whistleblower rewards of between 15% to 30% of the amount DOJ recovers.

When a person reports military fraud under the DOJ program, the government must open an investigation and inform the attorney of the results. Thus, applying for a reward through a whistleblower attorney is the only way to ensure an investigation takes place (rather than just calling an agency hotline). Today, over three-fourths of the government's fraud cases are DOJ whistleblower reward cases. Thus, the government is counting on whistleblowers to bring fraud cases to DOJ and receive a reward in the process.

    2. Report fraud to the Department of Defense

The second way to report government contractor fraud is to report it directly to the affected military agency or the Department of Defense (DOD). Read this for more information.

Here's how to report military fraud directly to the DOD.

First, you can call a DOD hotline at (800) 424-9098.

Read this here.:

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/mt-hood-community-college-to-host.html

Second, you can fill out a form on the DOD website, known as a Hotline Complaint. That web page describes what you can report and what not to report using the Hotline Complaint form. It also allows you to report the fraud anonymously.

There are a few downsides by reporting the fraud to the DOD or specific military agency and not by filing for a reward with the Department of Justice. First, there is no reward. Second, the agency does not have to open an investigation. Third, the agency does not have to tell you the results of any investigation. Nevertheless, there are times when it makes sense to report fraud directly to the agency through its website or by calling its hotline.

Other National Days for Reporting Fraud for a Whistleblower Reward:

There are several other national days for obtaining a whistleblower reward for reporting fraud against the government, including:

National Report IRS Fraud Day                        April 10
National Report Medicare Fraud Day                    September 12
National Whistleblower Reward Day                     February 20
