Odyssey Logistics Streamlines Asset Management and Inspections via MobileFrame Mobile Apps

MobileFrame, creators of the industry's only true code-free mobile app development platform, today announced that Odyssey Logistics has chosen to standardize on the MobileFrame platform for all mobile app development. With this technology in place, Odyssey Logistics can utilize modern mobile apps to manage their shipping operations, giving them the agility they need to continue to be a market leader in their industry.

Odyssey Logistics is a true multi-modal logistics solutions provider with a freight network presence at over 100 ports of entry worldwide. Recognized by Gartner in the most recent Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America, Odyssey understands the important role that technology plays in delivering differentiated services in highly competitive markets.

Prior to their MobileFrame deployment, Odyssey employees collected key shipment, logistics and quality assurance data on paper at ports of entry, which was then manually entered into their business systems. The process resulted in a lot of wasted paper and created resource intensive clerical work that was expensive to the company's bottom line.

Odyssey made a decision to go paperless and surveyed the market for a code free mobile application development platform that would suit their diverse application needs. MobileFrame provided the answer with our code free platform, and also got them off the ground overnight with our ready-to-run Enterprise Asset Management solution. Odyssey has gained the benefit of comprehensive data capture related to the flexitanks used to ship bulk quantities of edible liquids. Their new mobile app system provides key data points to track the history, quality and status of each flexitank along with photos and sketches of each item. Now the field teams can make well-informed, real-time business decisions, making them more efficient, agile, responsive and paperless, meeting all goals of the project.

MobileFrame's no-code approach to mobile application development allowed Odyssey to positively impact their operations in weeks, not months as required by low-code approaches, which are really just disguised coding tools. MobileFrame's platform enabled Odyssey to quickly deploy their long list of mobile apps needed to run their business more efficiently.

In addition to their flexitank assessment app, Odyssey is also deploying MobileFrame apps to handle dispatch, work orders, and an internal web based management portal. The combination of apps will provide the company with greater access to real-time operational data for better decision making in both the board room and in the field. This truly highlights how properly leveraged data can support faster execution, resulting in enhanced profitability.

"Given the scale and dynamic nature of Odyssey's business, our no-code approach to mobile application development was a natural fit for their needs," said Lonny Oswalt, CEO, MobileFrame. "Now that we've become a key component of their business operations, we look forward to working with them on their continued expansion of mobile apps for their global operations."

Aventrix Launches the Ultimate Cure for Boredom

Launching today, Aventrix makes it easy to discover nearly every type of activity, event, and entertainment option all on one site. Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends, an exciting date night, an event to travel to, or a quiet evening at home, Aventrix provides instant recommendations for the best shows, concerts, sporting events and at-home entertainment including movies, video games, music, and books. Rather than wading through different sites for every option, entertainment seekers can visit one place to browse, search, rate, save, and share activities nationwide. As users rate activities, the site learns personal preferences and provides increasingly customized recommendations.

Aventrix was created by software engineer David Klebanoff as a better way to answer the question, "What should I do tonight?". Tired of sifting through single topic sites to compare options, Klebanoff built an entertainment hub highlighting all options in one platform. Aventrix launched in beta in late 2017. The site is free to use and features an advertising-free experience.

"The problem isn't a shortage of entertainment options, it's that we have way too many options and sorting through them is a time-consuming, awful experience," said Klebanoff. "We're forced to sort through literally hundreds of single niche movie, book, and music review sites, ticketing sites and app stores just to make an informed decision. Finally, Aventrix has brought all this content together in a way that makes it as fun to find options as it is to enjoy them."

Beyond Rubik’s Cube Exhibition Opens at Adventure Science Center This Saturday, June 2

Exasperating, exhilarating, marvelous, and maddening, Rubik's Cube has fascinated people around the world since its inception. Witness its power when the internationally acclaimed Beyond Rubik's Cube exhibition opens at Adventure Science Center on Saturday, June 2. Read all the latest news.

Through highly interactive physical and digital challenges, guests will explore how Rubik's Cube emerged from a workshop in Communist-era Hungary to become a worldwide phenomenon, fostering creativity across the fields of science, technology, engineering, robotics, the visual arts, music, film, architecture, and mathematics.

The $5 million exhibition was designed by Liberty Science Center with lead creative partner Google, and the Cube's Budapest inventor Ernő Rubik. It debuted at LSC in Jersey City, NJ, in April 2014 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the world's bestselling puzzle toy.

"Finding ways to showcase innovation is always at the core of our mission. We want to provide experiences you can't find anywhere else, and Beyond Rubik's Cube offers the chance to do just that. It's fun for kids and adults, especially those who grew up during the worldwide phenomenon that Rubik's Cube launched many years ago and that continues today," said Steve Hinkley, Adventure Science Center President & CEO. "We're thrilled to bring this new hands-on exhibition to the Nashville community to give our guests a new way to actively engage with science, technology, engineering, and math using a toy they know and love."

As guests enter the exhibition, digital projections of color and geometry dance in response to their movement, setting the tone for the immersive experience that awaits them in three discovery zones: Invent, Play, and Inspire.

INVENT inspires guests to jump right into the complex and compelling world of puzzle toys with rare artifacts that show the origins of the Cube, a build-your-own puzzle challenge using 3D shapes, and an interactive touch table where guests can create visually stunning patterns.

PLAY offers more opportunities for hands-on exploration through an animated cube-solving guide, computer programming and robots, and even a color match game for the youngest guests.

INSPIRE encourages guests to experience the Cube's vast artistic and technological influence. From controlling a giant mechanical Rubik's Cube to engineering a musical masterpiece, guests will celebrate the Cube as a muse, metaphor, and pop culture icon.
Beyond Rubik's Cube will be on display at Adventure Science Center through Sept. 3, 2018.

Take Your Dog To Work Day® Celebrates 20 Years of Dogs at Work for a Cause

"How Take Your Dog To Work Day Is Changing Lives" is the title of an article previously published by Reader's Digest, but it is also a legacy that Take Your Dog To Work Day® creator Pet Sitters International (PSI) takes very seriously. Friday, June 22, marks PSI's 20th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay®) event and campaign—and this milestone celebration is bolstered by the support of its 2018 sponsors.

For its 20th celebration, PSI has partnered with carefully selected sponsors who support the campaign's mission and also offer must-have products and resources for pet parents:

  • Exclusive dog food partner "I and love and you" has a Take Your Dog To Work kit with treats, a bow tie, business cards and more to fully prep your dog for their big day in the cubicle jungle.
  • Official campaign partner Kurgo® is a leading supplier of quality dog travel supplies and accessories for active dogs, including car seat covers, harnesses and leashes.
  • "As we celebrate two decades of dogs at work for a 'paws-itive' cause, we appreciate the support of our 2018 sponsors who are leaders in the pet industry and also as passionate about pets as we are," said PSI President Pat ti J. Moran.

Since creating the event in 1999, PSI has encouraged employers across the United States—and around the globe—to open their doors to employees' dogs for one fun summer Friday each year to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote their adoptions. PSI offers a free downloadable event toolkit that provides instructions for planning a TYDTWDay event, as well as employee participation forms and a sample "dogs at work" policy.

When PSI created Take Your Dog To Work Day® in 1999, Moran says the day was initially met with skepticism. For two decades, however, large, small and mid-sized companies have answered the call, celebrating dogs at work and often also raising money for local pet-rescue organizations and animal shelters.

"While TYDTWDay offers a fun opportunity to have dogs at work, its purpose since the inaugural celebration has always been to encourage pet adoptions," explained Beth Stultz, PSI vice-president and TYDTWDay spokesperson. "We hear from participating companies that partner with local shelters or rescue groups to allow them to bring in adoptable pets, host benefit luncheons or charity auctions, or plan contests such as dog-owner lookalike competitions to raise money for local pet-related organizations."

For companies unable to participate on Friday—or those who want to involve other pet types—the entire week leading up to Take Your Dog To Work Day is Take Your Pet To Work Week®, which kicks off with Take Your Cat To Work Day™ on Monday, June 18.

UT Physicians Expands Partnership with Babyscripts

    - Babyscripts, the leading prenatal app and the first mobile clinical tool to allow obstetricians to remotely monitor their pregnant patients' progress and health, has announced an expansion with UT Physicians after a successful pilot program. UT Physicians is the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

    More info here.:

    https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/petplacecom-launches-puppy-diaries.html

The Babyscripts mobile app will now be offered to all obstetric patients to enhance their knowledge, experience and clinical care. Babyscripts™ improves the quality of pregnancy care beyond the OB-GYN office visit. The app uses insights and advice approved by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to support and educate patients throughout their prenatal journey.

During the initial pilot program, the Houston area was hit by Hurricane Harvey, which was a critical time to provide expectant mothers with up-to-date information regarding care. UT Physicians obstetricians, in addition to the Babyscripts team, were able to leverage the real-time communication ability of the program to push out important information to patients during the disaster. Over the course of three days, patient engagement in the mobile app increased 430 percent, driven by multiple sessions per day.

"Most of our patients are using online platforms now throughout their pregnancy through social media and apps on their phones," said Brian Heaps, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. "Incorporating Babyscripts, an app that uses information approved by ACOG, is a great way to combine the usefulness of current technology with accurate and local information about our clinical practice and the hospital. It gives us another way to provide the best care to our patients during their pregnancies."

"Expanding pregnancy resources for our patients with the addition of Babyscripts enhances the patient experience with evidence-based information available at their fingertips," said Joey England, M.D., assistant professor at the medical school and a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. "We wanted to offer a modern tool to improve access to care and patient satisfaction. It has provided helpful knowledge to patients during their pregnancy, often inspiring additional questions during their office visit."

"We are excited to continue on this journey with UT Physicians," said Anish Sebastian, CEO and co-founder of Babyscripts. "We believe that we can create a far more dynamic and convenient experience for moms-to-be, while allowing for providers to care for their patients in a real-time manner."

Babyscripts is a virtual care platform for obstetrics that allows physicians to deliver a new model of prenatal care. The platform is powered by a suite of mobile apps that drive better patient decision-making, internet-connected devices for remote monitoring, and a host of population health tools to give providers access to patient data in real time. When using these tools, patients experience increased engagement and satisfaction, while OBGYNs are able to identify patient risk more quickly and improve clinic workflow. Read all the related news.
