Aladtec, Inc., Will Be Part of PRO EMS Event Near Norwich, CT.

Originally named Connecticut EMS Expo, the upcoming PRO EMS conference has morphed into the most extensive Emergency Medical Service convention in New England. It provides a three-day venue for learning, fellowship, and commerce in the 38,000 sq. ft. hall at the Mohegan Sun Casino Resort.

A team from Aladtec, Inc., the premier provider of cloud-based scheduling and workforce management software to public safety agencies, will be among some 130 vendors showcasing products and services during the show.

This will be Aladtec's first visit to PRO EMS, but the vendor is no stranger to New England. Currently, 169 EMS, fire, police and sheriff's departments, dispatch centers and healthcare facilities use the cloud-based software to create schedules, allow staff to initiate shift trades and swaps, manage certifications, e-forms, and streamline other tasks. Read latest news here.

"Budgets are tight, and I only spend money on items that will produce the best bang for our buck," said Albert Beardsley, now-retired chief at Georgetown Fire Department, Georgetown, Mass. "The Aladtec system is reasonably priced and when compared against staff-hours used to set schedules and set payroll. It is well worth the investment. "

The gathering starts with a day of pre-conference workshops May 30, followed by three days of educational classes taught by a range of experts in the EMS field.

Keynote speaker is Connecticut native Kevin Lacz, a decorated former US Navy SEAL, and combat medic -- now a Physician Assistant in Florida. After leaving military service, Lacz was approached to serve as technical advisor to the movie, American Sniper, the story of Chris Kyle, with whom he served in Iraq. Kyle and director Clint Eastwood convinced Lacz to play himself in the Oscar-winning production. Lacz has also published a memoir, recounting his role in the Battle for Ramadi.

Account executive Pete Anderson and systems specialist Jake Tormoen will be attending the conference from Aladtec, Inc. The men will be on-hand at Booth #37 to answer questions from existing customers, and provide demonstrations to anyone interested in learning more about how Aladtec can improve efficiencies and communication at their agency.

Heather Stone Appointed President of Power2Change Foundation

The Power2Change (P2C) Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to changing the lives of middle school youth, has recently appointed Heather Stone as its new President. Stone will actively guide the leadership team and Executive Board on national and international initiatives.

"Every child has value and every child has something wonderful to offer the world. Sometimes it just takes a single connection with an inspiring teacher/mentor to help nurture those special gifts and talents within a child and show them all of the possibilities that life has to offer," said Stone. "I am so honored to be working with innovative thought leaders for youth today, from around the globe, and thrilled to be part of a larger team that will not only identify a child's spark but give them the tools and roadmap to help them achieve their dreams."

A large percentage of high-risk students stop attending school after 8th grade. P2C focuses on reaching these children in the transitional year from elementary school to middle school, providing support through leadership programs from sixth through eighth grade.

P2C serves as an umbrella foundation for a host of partners across the United States and around the world, providing funding, technology, athletics support and programming in youth clubs and organizations. The Executive Board is responsible for developing the programs and strategies as well as promoting them through speaking engagements and fundraising.

About Power2Change Foundation

Iowa Police Chiefs Gathering May 22; Aladtec will be Part of the Exhibition

When law enforcement leaders from across Iowa converge near Iowa City for the annual Iowa Police Chiefs Association conference, representatives from Aladtec, Inc. will be among vendors present to demonstrate the latest state-of-the-art tools to help protect and serve the public.

Keynote speaker for the gathering is Ron Glidden -- a former police chief-turned consultant and author. Glidden is expected to share highlights from his "Bulletproof Leadership" titles and offer advice on how agency leaders and their teams can boost employee morale, accountability, and performance.

The Aladtec Online Employee Scheduling and Workforce Management software platform is as close as an officer's smartphone or tablet. The cloud-based system streamlines scheduling of staff, makes filling open shifts and trades simple, helps agencies meet minimum staffing requirements, provides a tool to upload files, and assures that mandatory messages get read.

Aladtec has 63 Iowa agencies using its online scheduling and workforce management software, including police departments of Ankeny, Muscatine, Pleasant Hill, and Vinton, plus several sheriff's departments and dispatch centers. More than 2,050 police, dispatch, fire, EMS and healthcare agencies rely on Aladtec daily.

The River Falls, Wis. based firm has 43 employees, dedicated entirely to support and enhancement of the platform.

The two-day conference also features presentations by a pair of Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations detectives who helped crack an 18-year-old homicide case. Their probe resulted in the conviction of a 51-year-old Tama County man who allegedly killed his then-fiancee. The woman's body was never found, and the conviction is believed to be only one of two in Iowa history won in the absence of such key physical evidence.

Conference attendees will also hear about the history and future of automated driving from Dr. Dan McGehee, Associate Professor of Engineering at the University of Iowa, and director of UI's Advanced Driving Simulator. View a short video about McGehee's work. McGehee has published over 140 scientific articles and book chapters on driver performance and response and automotive safety.

Those attending meetings at the Coralville Marriott & Conference Center can visit Aladtec representatives Rob Kueppers and Eric Hahn at Booth #53 during the exhibition on Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23. They'll provide guided demonstrations of the Aladtec system.

The firm has posted a short video that illustrates how the River Falls (WI) Police Department uses Aladtec to track certifications, assure proper staffing, streamline daily patrol logs and more.

"Previously, we simply used an Excel spreadsheet to schedule our staff. It was very time-consuming. My favorite features are Aladtec's paging feature, the ability to do advanced scheduling far into the future and the mobile capability," said Captain Rob Browne, Goffstown Police Dept., Goffstown, NH. " Through the mobile web app, I can send out a page from anywhere. The crew likes the ability to see who has what for shifts, or detail assignments, and the fact they can request shift swaps from home or anywhere."

To learn more about Aladtec now or to sign up for a complimentary demonstration, visit: aladtec.com or call Rob Kueppers at 888-749-5550 and he'll provide a quick summary of all the Aladtec program features.
