"Girls are powerful on their own. They face a lot of challenges, but, with the right supports, role models, and mentors, they can push past obstacles to lead healthy lives, succeed academically, and advocate for themselves and others," says Stephanie J. Hull, Ph.D., Girls Inc. President and CEO. "This year's honorees are the kind of role models who show girls what it means to dream and achieve great things. We are delighted to honor them, both for their own accomplishments and for their commitment to women and girls."

The Girls Inc. New York Luncheon is hosted by Cate Luzio, CEO of Luminary, and Alison Kenney Paul, Principal, Vice Chairman, Deloitte. Held at the New York Marriott Marquis, the event brings together hundreds of committed supporters to celebrate distinguished Honorees and Girls Inc. National Scholars who share personal stories of overcoming challenges. The event raises funds to support Girls Inc. In delivering life-changing programming and opportunities for girls in the United States and Canada.

New evaluation from the American Institutes of Research (AIR) finds Girls Inc. Girls have a significant advantage over their peers in more than 20 key areas. The findings demonstrate that girls not only thrive at Girls Inc., they are also more likely than other girls to see themselves as leaders, with the skills and capabilities of influencing and improving their local communities. Informed by both the AIR study and an understanding of what is happening in girls' lives, in the newly released Stronger, Smarter, Bolder: Girls Take the Lead Report, Girls Inc. Proposes four crucial supports that allow girls to reach their potential and become strong leaders: the right relationships; encouragement to develop and use their voices; a positive self-image; and intellectual confidence.
