Correlation One's 'Data Science for All: Women's Summit' Aims to Tackle Dramatic Gender Imbalances in AI & Data Science

Correlation One is announcing the inaugural Data Science for All: Women's Summit in New York City this October. The initiative is designed to help women with technical backgrounds bridge 'the last mile' into data science jobs.

"Women are vastly under-represented in careers in Data Science and changing hiring practices alone will not solve this problem because it's a supply-side issue," said Correlation One Co-Founders & Co-CEOs, Sham Mustafa and Rasheed Sabar. "Correlation One's Data Science for All: Women's Summit is a novel program that provides free data science training and mentorship as well as connections to jobs with industry-leading employers." Read this for more information.

The invite-only Women's Summit includes two weeks of free instructor-led data science training and professional development workshops. Participants are also matched with experienced women mentors who provide technical and non-technical workplace guidance. The summit culminates in a one-day career fair on October 25th where participants present their work to top employers actively hiring data and analytics talent.

"Data Science and AI are booming but we're on the ground floor. We have an opportunity to fix the diversity issue while it's still early," added Deepali Vyas, senior partner at Korn Ferry and advisor to the Women's Summit.

The Women's Summit is accepting participant and mentor applications through September 30th, 2019, here. Organizations backing the women's summit include platinum sponsor Citadel & Citadel Securities – as well as supporting sponsors: EY, Marshall Wace, MarketAxess, and Point72.
