According to the American Hospital Association, registered U.S. hospitals spent $991 billion on annual operating expenses in 2017. Goldstein points to a recent change in federal tax law as another reason high-asset couples need attorneys who understand their particular needs. Generally, the payer of spousal support has a substantially higher income than the recipient. For divorces finalized prior to 2019, the payer can deduct spousal support dollars from their taxable income, while the recipient pays the federal income tax on those dollars at a presumably lower tax rate. The new law effectively increases the tax burden on the couple as a whole. For divorces finalized after January 1, 2019, payers of spousal support will pay federal income taxes on their entire income, including spousal support dollars, and recipients will receive those dollars tax-free.

On Sunday, Feb. 24, the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade, a huge parade of costumed pets that has drawn crowds of more than 10,000 spectators, will be held at 2000 Reeves Marine Drive in Bossier City. Pet registration begins at noon, pet contests begin at 1 p.m., and the costumed pet parade typically marches at 3 p.m.

Space Probe Delivers ‘A Message from the Neighbours’ in New Science Fiction Novella

Once the astronauts return to Earth, the message plays. It turns out that the message, delivered by Interface's image, is a description of the status of the neighbours star system some 300,000 years ago.

Hyde hopes that his book pushes readers to consider that "Intelligent life elsewhere in the universe may not necessarily be aggressive and violent if one believes in a Creator."

Vincent J. Hyde was born in September 1954 in Calcutta, India. While living in Calcutta he studied in Saint Xavier's College. He migrated to Sydney, Australia, in February 1970. While living in Sydney, he completed his secondary education at Marcellin College and Merrylands High School, where he obtained his higher school certificate in 1973. He completed the electrical engineering degree course at the University of New South Wales in 1979. He earned a postgraduate diploma in illumination design at the University of Sydney in 1983. He worked as an electrical engineer at the NSW Public Works from 1979 to 2014 and retired from active engineering duties in 2014.
