Increased Demand On Unified Communications Infrastructure Stresses Under COVID-19

TeleMate.Net Software's unified communication and collaboration analytics products and services provide critical insight helping organizations successfully execute plans to protect their employees and combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As government travel advisories are being updated regularly, many organizations have chosen to limit or in some cases ban employee travel for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, organizations are rapidly developing and implementing strict policies that encourage employees to work from home in the event they or a family member are feeling ill. Continue reading.

Efforts to continue productive business interactions while limiting activities that can contribute to the pandemic spread, have led to an exponential increase in the use of video conferencing and other real-time virtual meeting solutions that reside in the unified communications & collaborations portfolio. Major unified communications manufactures like Cisco System, Microsoft and Zoom respectively are offering their WebEx, Teams and Video collaboration tools at no charge to help during these unprecedented times.

Organizations are scrambling to ensure that they are prepared to meet the increased demand for their chosen unified communications and collaboration services. Prior to the current pandemic, many organizations introduced these unified communications and collaboration services to a fraction of their overall workforce. This essentially means that critical elements like concurrent user licensing, capacity and bandwidth availability have all been fine-tuned to normal business as usual adoption. Today each of those critical elements, which points to overall user experience, must be monitored and recalibrated to accommodate the COVID-19 pandemic driven increases.

As organizations rapidly shift from face to face in person interactions to virtual methods, the quality of that virtual experience will play a large role in the overall quality of interaction which can directly impact business outcomes. This heavier than normal burden on IT resources means that IT has to find ways to be proactive in an effort to reduce the negative impact of poor service quality and speed time to remedy so that users have the level of reliability required to execute in this new environment.

"During a crisis, real-time information makes all the difference" said Steve Tabaska, TeleMate's CEO. "At this time, uninterrupted collaboration between organizations is important and more specifically, uninterrupted collaboration between pharmaceutical companies, medical facilities and government agencies is paramount to eradicating the COVID-19 virus."

Red Giant has just released another Cheap Tricks episode, featuring half-dad, a father who is conjured back to life with only his legs and feet, from Pixar's "Onward" - now playing in theaters. In this Cheap Tricks episode, now out on YouTube, Dan "Hashi" Hashimoto, the Action Movie Dad, shows viewers a range of techniques for erasing characters from static and dynamic shots using 3D plate projection for a live-action remake of half-dad from "Onward." Viewers will also learn how Maxon Cinema 4D is used to create a more animated version of "dad legs."

WATCH NOW: Cheap Tricks Episode 14 – Pixar's Onward Half Dad Effect

"I think that knowing how to erase things from a handheld shot is a skill that could prove useful in a million different ways," Hashi explains. "You may never need to create dad legs per se...but there are lots of reasons that visual effects are used to erase limbs in movies." Be alert to the latest news.

Focusing on camera tracking, basic plate projection, masking and particle & lens flare plugins, Hashi demonstrates three levels of difficulty approaching how to erase the top part of his body while keeping his legs moving around in After Effects. Many tools from Red Giant Complete were used to help create the effect including Trapcode Particular, which was primarily used to create the magical particles coming the "magical wand" seen in the video that was used to diminish Hashi into a pair of legs. Other tools used included plugins from Magic Bullet Suite and VFX Suite. In the last 10 minutes of the tutorial, Hashi creates a CG version of half-dad by utilizing Maxon Cinema 4D and Adobe's Mixamo.

Debit Cards and P2P Payments Both Integral to U.S. Consumers’ Payments Repertoire

Mercator Advisory Group's most recent report, Debit Cards and P2P Payments: Solid Partners, a 2019 U.S. PaymentsInsights study, reveals that the debit cards and person-to-person (P2P) payments are both core components of the U.S. payment ecosphere today.

Read this for more information.:

https://jessicapressreleases.blogspot.com/2018/05/cobo-wallet-announces-pre-series.html

This report from Mercator Advisory Group's Primary Data service is based on a sample of 3,002 U.S. adults surveyed in the annual online Payments survey of Mercator's North American PaymentsInsights series, conducted in June 2019.

The study highlights consumers' use of debit cards relative to other payment types, participation in debit card reward programs, and new account opening. Additionally, the survey covers usage of P2P payment services, key P2P brands, reasons for using and not using P2P payments, and P2P fraud. Be alert to read related news.

"Both debit cards and P2P payments are key components in the payments repertoire of U.S. consumers. Each has strengths in serving different constituencies. Debit card has a core group of users who prefer debit over credit cards and use it for all the transactions for which others would use credit. Person-to-person (P2P) payment services are continuing to grow as people and businesses find more use for it," stated the author of the report, Peter Reville, director of Primary Data Services at Mercator Advisory Group, which includes the North American PaymentsInsights series.

Highlights of this report include:

  • The use of payment cards online and off line
  • The incidence of debit card fraud
  • Debit card rewards
  • P2P payment usage
  • The types of P2P payments used
  • P2P payment fraud
  • Companies mentioned in the survey results shown include: Apple, Facebook, Google, MoneyGram, PayPal, PeoplePay, PopMoney, Square, Venmo, Western Union, and Zelle.

Wild Harvest Initiative® Launches New Web-based Community

Conservation Visions is launching a new website, http://www.thewildharvestinitiative.com, for its flagship program, the Wild Harvest Initiative®. The Wild Harvest Initiative® is the first scientific program to assess and communicate the scale, comprehensive value and modern relevance of recreationally harvested wild meat and fish in the United States and Canada.

The new website offers program information and updates about the Initiative and its partnership alliance, and will host a new web-based community platform for wild harvesters – from hunters and anglers to wild mushroom foragers and medicinal plant gathers, and everyone in between – to share photos, videos, stories, recipes, and ideas related to nature and natural harvests. Users have the option to become subscribers or to engage more actively as contributors. The blogging-style platform is very easy-to-use and does not require contributors to be technologically proficient.

The Wild Harvest Initiative® will positively align wild animal harvests with other commonly practiced and well-accepted natural resource use traditions, such as berry-picking, wild beekeeping, and firewood gathering. It will facilitate alliances with other consumptive users of wild products, in addition to healthy lifestyle and green-living advocates, thus creating a wider base of support for wildlife conservation.

    About Conservation Visions

Conservation Visions Inc. is a wildlife initiative founded by internationally recognized biologist and conservation advocate, Shane Mahoney. It is dedicated to a world where conservation matters; where biodiversity is safeguarded, including the diversity of human cultural experience; where conservation and citizenship are viewed as inseparable; where a global responsibility to nature is recognized; where the sustainable use of natural resources is safeguarded through knowledge; and where governments make sound decisions concerning conservation and biodiversity, based on scientific and traditional wisdom.
