Memoranda of Understanding Signed by Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® to Encourage Collaboration and Opportunities

The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) signed two Memoranda of Understanding during the National Association of REALTORS® Convention, held in San Francisco. These strategic partnerships were signed with RRAR's Ambassador Association, the National Association of REALTORS® - India, as well as domestic partners Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®, located in the Chicagoland area.

"It's an exciting honor to be serving as President during this time when our association is being recognized globally for being active thought leaders in providing new and exciting services for our members," 2019 RRAR President Renee Smith said. "I think this truly the beginning of a bigger vision we have for being connected with countries around the world and here at home in elevating industry professionalism and the role of the association in economic development."

These MOUs establish the cooperation of RRAR in developing mutually beneficial relationships with both NAR – India as well as Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® that will directly impact both the members of these Associations, but also make a considerable impact on economic development and the housing markets, as a whole.

GreenDog Spa Reaches 100 Rescue Dogs Groomed Milestone

Mother-daughter owners, Erica Benson and Lynn Lamoureux of Green Dog Spa have volunteered their grooming services for 100 rescue dogs so far in 2019.

Starting in 2011, Green Dog Spa has always welcomed rescue pets into their business, but this is the first time this heart-warming milestone has been reached. "It always seemed like the right thing to do. I can't tell you exactly how this started because it's just seemed so natural. The first time I got a call I said, 'sure bring them over!'. It grew from there. I'm so proud of our team" says Lamoureux.

Over time, word of mouth has earned Green Dog Spa a reputation for helping pets in need. Nonprofit organizations like K9 for Warriors, Jacksonville Humane Society, Animal Care and Protective Services, Canine Companions for Independence and others have learned that the caring pair are willing to help deserving pets find a new home and a better life.

Benson adds "We help anytime we are called. We're happy to do it and feel like it's our contribution to not only the animals but the generous volunteers that keep these organizations going. It's not important to us which organization needs help. For us, its all about the animal. The grooming process helps reveal true personality and aids in the re-homing process. Florida Urgent Rescue (F.U.R.), an organization that specializes in hurricane displaced pets has been coming to GreenDog for 5 years. Mike Merrill, founder states "They're a great partner to have. Lamoureux and Benson admit that there is a maximum number of dogs and cats they can treat for free, although they have difficulty identifying that number. At every quarter, the university's presidents emailed full and part-time staff at their 20 campuses thanking them for their talent and asking them to invite friends and colleagues to apply for various job positions.

"Within one year, the campuses were getting 40 to 90% of their hires coming from referrals," she says. "There were no referral dollars involved. A lot of times companies will have a referral program where someone can get $1,500, for example. When you don't have a budget, simply asking employees to invite people to apply can work."
