Vanilla Video Acquires Premium Domain Videographer.com

A Chicago-based video production company acquires premium domain Videographer.com for an undisclosed amount. The search term "videographer" receives tens of thousands of monthly searches, with advertisers paying $3.00 per click, on average, for the keyword. Read related news now.

Vanilla Video operates a well-established brand in the Chicago area, providing video production services to Fortune 500 companies, weddings, athletes, musicians, events, startups, non-profits, schools and governments. According to the Vanilla Video website, the company has provided at least 3,400 customers with videography services and employs several full-time videographers.

With a steady growth rate, and now handling 600+ projects per year, Vanilla Video is one of the industry-leading video production companies by volume. "People love online shopping. Clients visit our website and it handles most of the sales process for us, including quotes," explains Co-Founder Frank Romano. "Video is not simple, but our unique pricing structure allows quotes to be finely-tuned for any situation or budget. Best of all, many clients can quote themselves."

One unique aspect about Vanilla Video is the a la carte price structure. Customers are able to pick-and-choose exactly what is, or is not, included in a video production. The company still handles at least 150+ weddings per year; however, the service appeals to out-of-town business customers who need a videographer. While Vanilla Video is popular with locals, the company also attracts clients from 300+ miles away – in-part, due to online ordering and their simplified pricing.

Vanilla Video notes Videographer.com receives regular updates and expects the website to be fully operational in 2020. Vanilla Video plans to continue using VanillaVideo.com for its business and operate Videographer.com as a separate division.

"Acquiring Videographer.com was a perfect fit for us," Corey continued, "Co-branding Vanilla Video with Videographer.com boosts our credibility, and trust on the web. Our website is the primary driver of leads as we do zero outbound sales. This is really a great investment for us."

More than 600 Barbies with Prosthetic Legs Donated to Children of Shriners Hospitals

When 18-year-old Chloe, a longtime patient of Shriners Hospitals for Children®, saw that Barbie® made a doll with a prosthetic leg – the Barbie Fashionista™ Doll #121 – she was more than excited, and she wanted to share them with others like her, too.

On Monday, Chloe and her mom delivered more than 400 of the Barbie dolls – collected through family and friends – to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield in Massachusetts. Mattel, Inc., maker of Barbie, sent an additional 200 dolls to the hospital. Chloe was able to present one of the dolls to a fellow patient during her visit, and she says she hopes her donation will help other kids and teens with limb differences feel more confident.

As a teen with a prosthetic leg, Chloe didn't have a doll that looked like her while growing up, so she knew this would mean a lot to others with limb differences. She decided she wanted to collect as many of the dolls as she could for other kids at the Springfield Shriners Hospital, where she has received prosthetic services since she was a toddler.

Chloe's mom, Cindy, took to social media to ask friends and family to purchase the dolls as they found them, offering to pay. The request went viral and eventually Barbie herself got word of their efforts and replied to a tweet from Chloe's brother who shared the story on Twitter. "The world needs #MoreRoleModels like Chloe. Sending a little something your way, @shrinershosp," said the Tweet from Barbie. Donations poured in, filling Chloe's dining room. No one asked to be reimbursed.

The donated dolls will serve as tools in therapeutic education and medical play for kids facing amputation – and their siblings – to help explain their situation, says Brock McConkey, CPO, Manager, Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetic Services (POPS) — Northeast, LLC. McConkey is the prosthetist who has fabricated and fitted Chloe with her legs for most of her life, and the person she says inspired her to make the donation.

This generous gift will be shared with Shriners Hospitals for Children's 16 Pediatric Orthotics and Prosthetics Services (POPS) locations around the U.S., where our teams design and customize orthotics and prosthetic devices that are tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Student Surveys Conducted by Industry Leader Pride Surveys Along with Surveys Conducted by Two Additional Organizations Show Large Increases in Vaping by 12th Graders

Statistics from Pride Surveys, a national leader in student survey data collection, show that vaping increased across the board for all students in grades 6-12 over a two-year period. The largest increase was found amongst 12th-grade students, 32.6% of whom reported using a nicotine vaporizer in the last 30 days, an increase year over year of 10.8% between 2017 and 2018.

These numbers are especially concerning given the CDC's guidance on vaping tobacco products: E-cigarettes are not safe for youth, young adults, pregnant women, or adults who do not currently use tobacco products. Equally alarming is the current outbreak of identified cases of lung disease related to vaping products.

The Pride Survey and the Pride Survey Plus collected data from 5,306 12th grade students across the country and in communities where there are active community coalitions combating substance use in youth. The data are self-reported statistics from students used to evaluate the effectiveness of programs that are being implemented in the communities and to determine the need for such programs.

The publicly funded Monitoring the Future Survey, the National Youth Tobacco Survey, and the Pride Survey all show similar rates of increase in tobacco vaping. The Monitoring the Future Survey shows a 9.9% increase over the previous year and the National Youth Tobacco Survey shows a 10.8% increase which matched the increase reported by the Pride Survey. Although the surveys are not directly comparable due to differing methodologies, question structure, and cohorts, the similarities in these statistics help validate each other.
