New mobile app from Maplesoft to help students learn math

Maplesoft™ today announced the release of the Maple™ Companion, a free mobile app that complements the mathematical software product Maple. The Maple Companion app enables users to easily bring mathematical expressions into Maple simply by taking a picture. Once in Maple, the user has the full power of Maple available to solve, visualize, analyze, and explore these expressions, and incorporate them into other work.

Students can use the Maple Companion to check their homework, visualize a problem they are working on, explore variations of the problem, and more, all without having to enter the equations into Maple manually. The expressions can be handwritten, such as in the student's own notes, or typeset, such as in a textbook. When used in conjunction with Maple, the Maple Companion app allows users to:
