AX Semantics Launches AI-Powered Automated Content Generation For Financial Services Sector

AX Semantics, an AI-powered, natural language generation (NLG) leader, today announced a new range of content generation software for the financial services and banking sector. Available in more than 110 languages, AX Semantics' addresses the pain point of recurring financial reports, regulatory filings, executive summaries, and other written communication - all of which typically require massive amounts of financial data from disparate sources to be gathered, analyzed and translated into text customized for a broad range of audiences and languages. AX Semantics' NLG software powered by AI automates these processes. It produces smartly-written narratives that read the same as if a human wrote them -- automating tedious, resource-intensive tasks and allowing financial firms to access "new gold" by analyzing and understanding their customer and product data faster than their competitors.

Financial analysts, brokers, and executives face the demand to quickly update the content required by state and federal laws and regulations, such as details about investment plans, risk assessments, and financial filings -- all of which must be updated regularly. AX Semantics' NLG software enables finance employees to effortlessly turn mountains of data into real-time actionable written narratives, create reports, descriptions of terms and loans, draft regulatory filings, and documents detailing investments -- all with minimal training -- freeing up bandwidth for higher-value activities and responsibilities.

"Financial services companies now have a simple way not only to produce content but to also rapidly revise it when there has been an important development or a new regulation -- saving significant resources in terms of man-hours and costs," said Saim Rolf Alkan, CEO and founder of AX Semantics. "Financial reports that used to take analysts and executives days to produce can now be completed in seconds using AX Semantics."

AX Semantics content generation features for finance include:

Mario Berger, risk advisory director at Deloitte, said the firm experienced an almost 80% reduction in time spent on projects like recurring reports by using content generation software. "In our estimation, projects in this environment are significantly more successful if parts or even the entire 'path' of the process is automated – i.e., data management, for example, using Natural Language Processing. We consider the fundamental potential to be very high."

Supercharged Performance for Open Source Databases

rENIAC, the drop-in data accelerator first deployed on Intel® FPGA Programmable Acceleration Cards, today announced that it has received Series A funding led by Intel Capital with participation from UMC Capital, Leawood Venture Capital, Divergent Capital, Bullpen Capital, Upheaval Investments and J-Angels.

Already in use by leading organizations including a major telco and major media studio, rENIAC has developed an ultrafast data engine to power the increasing requirements of data center and edge applications, particularly those based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. rENIAC's FPGA-backed Data Engine supercharges applications so customers can process massive data sets in real time, maintain service-level agreements (SLAs) for end users and eliminate time spent on performance tuning.

"The amount of data required for real time, customer-facing applications is impossible to operationalize when managed through software alone, and many organizations are struggling to build infrastructure that supports their AI, ML or IoT initiatives," said Prasanna Sundararajan, CEO and co-founder of rENIAC. "We are proud to provide the first drop-in data accelerator so customers using open source databases can 'right size' their existing data architecture - and avoid the pain of database migration or application refactoring while improving the end user experience."

With patented technology, rENIAC combines the benefits of software with the power of FPGAs and tiered data architecture to deliver 10x higher throughput at sub millisecond latency compared to open source databases alone. This enables customers to retrieve data more quickly in order to help prevent fraud, process payments, provide personalized recommendations and perform other revenue-increasing actions in real time while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

rENIAC can be deployed on premise or in the cloud and works with standard servers and FPGAs from major providers like Intel and Xilinx. With no required changes to existing data architecture or application software, rENIAC can be deployed in minutes and delivers performance increases almost immediately.

"For data services where every millisecond counts, we see increasing use of hardware accelerators," said Patrick Dorsey, vice president and general manager of Programmable Solutions Product Marketing at Intel. "The rENIAC Data Engine drop-in accelerator powered by Intel FPGAs and SSDs can deliver higher data throughput with minimal changes to the software stack, which makes it easier for customers to develop and deploy in the data center."

Episcopal Relief & Development Receives $600,000 Grant from Islamic Relief USA to Expand Work to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls in Liberia

Episcopal Relief & Development has received a second, three-year, $600,000 grant from Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) to expand a ground-breaking partnership with the humanitarian arm of the Episcopal Church of Liberia (ECL-RD) to combat gender-based violence in Liberia. This program, which equips faith and community leaders to transform harmful cultural and religious attitudes towards women, is also supported by a grant from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, The Laura Ellen & Robert Muglia Family Foundation, and other generous donations.

Liberia is considered one of the most dangerous countries in the world for women and children. More than 50% of Liberians live in poverty and the country has some of the highest rates globally of violence against women and girls. Violence takes many forms, including female genital cutting, child marriage and economic violence such as the denial of education. According to the United Nations, 39% of women experience physical or sexual intimate partner violence at least once in their lifetime. Faith and community leaders play a critical role in helping shape positive cultural views on gender equality.

"Women have been crucial in peacebuilding and development in Liberia, and this International Women's Day we celebrate their economic, cultural and political achievements," said Chiseche Mibenge, Director of Gender Initiatives for Episcopal Relief & Development. "Islamic Relief USA's generous support for ECL-RD's work with faith leaders to attain gender equality is an affirmation of Liberian women's dignity and the transformative impact that the program has had on communities."

Launched in 2015, the initial phase of the project worked to engage faith leaders in two counties, developing a gender-based violence prevention toolkit and training 84 Christian and Muslim faith leaders to speak out against violence against women and girls in their communities. The program also equipped faith leaders to more effectively support survivors of violence. Through trainings and organized events, this core group of leaders then reached out to 679 imams and priests. This second phase of the project, Scaling Up Faith Leaders Engagement to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG Liberia), continues the work in the initial two counties, and expands to two additional ones in order to train and equip 237 faith leaders and 360 youth leaders across 54 townships. The overall goal of VAWG Liberia is for over 28,000 women and girls to experience less intimate partner violence and non-partner sexual violence, and to have increased access to support services. Read latest news here.

"Islamic Relief USA's partnership in this program has been instrumental in shifting harmful attitudes and behaviors towards women and girls," said Annette Musu Kiawu, the National Director for Episcopal Church of Liberia Relief & Development. "They have inspired a spirit of reconciliation in our multi-faith society and helped us to recognize the value of engaging both Christian and Muslim faith leaders to transform communities.

"Islamic Relief USA is proud of its partnership with Episcopal Relief & Development that has focused on tackling one of the most pressing issues impacting women and girls in Liberia," said Sharif Aly, CEO of Islamic Relief USA. "Through a comprehensive, faith grounded approach, we have been able to build trust throughout communities and make significant progress towards combating gender-based violence in an oftentimes highly volatile environment."

Increased Demand On Unified Communications Infrastructure Stresses Under COVID-19

TeleMate.Net Software's unified communication and collaboration analytics products and services provide critical insight helping organizations successfully execute plans to protect their employees and combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As government travel advisories are being updated regularly, many organizations have chosen to limit or in some cases ban employee travel for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, organizations are rapidly developing and implementing strict policies that encourage employees to work from home in the event they or a family member are feeling ill. Continue reading.

Efforts to continue productive business interactions while limiting activities that can contribute to the pandemic spread, have led to an exponential increase in the use of video conferencing and other real-time virtual meeting solutions that reside in the unified communications & collaborations portfolio. Major unified communications manufactures like Cisco System, Microsoft and Zoom respectively are offering their WebEx, Teams and Video collaboration tools at no charge to help during these unprecedented times.

Organizations are scrambling to ensure that they are prepared to meet the increased demand for their chosen unified communications and collaboration services. Prior to the current pandemic, many organizations introduced these unified communications and collaboration services to a fraction of their overall workforce. This essentially means that critical elements like concurrent user licensing, capacity and bandwidth availability have all been fine-tuned to normal business as usual adoption. Today each of those critical elements, which points to overall user experience, must be monitored and recalibrated to accommodate the COVID-19 pandemic driven increases.

As organizations rapidly shift from face to face in person interactions to virtual methods, the quality of that virtual experience will play a large role in the overall quality of interaction which can directly impact business outcomes. This heavier than normal burden on IT resources means that IT has to find ways to be proactive in an effort to reduce the negative impact of poor service quality and speed time to remedy so that users have the level of reliability required to execute in this new environment.

Functions like executive dashboards to help C-levels prioritize business value with environmental changes and proactive trouble shooting that enables IT to manage quality of experience.

"During a crisis, real-time information makes all the difference" said Steve Tabaska, TeleMate's CEO. "At this time, uninterrupted collaboration between organizations is important and more specifically, uninterrupted collaboration between pharmaceutical companies, medical facilities and government agencies is paramount to eradicating the COVID-19 virus."

Red Giant Recreates Half-Dad from Pixar’s “Onward” in New Cheap Tricks Episode

Red Giant has just released another Cheap Tricks episode, featuring half-dad, a father who is conjured back to life with only his legs and feet, from Pixar's "Onward" - now playing in theaters. In this Cheap Tricks episode, now out on YouTube, Dan "Hashi" Hashimoto, the Action Movie Dad, shows viewers a range of techniques for erasing characters from static and dynamic shots using 3D plate projection for a live-action remake of half-dad from "Onward." Viewers will also learn how Maxon Cinema 4D is used to create a more animated version of "dad legs."

WATCH NOW: Cheap Tricks Episode 14 – Pixar's Onward Half Dad Effect

"I think that knowing how to erase things from a handheld shot is a skill that could prove useful in a million different ways," Hashi explains. "You may never need to create dad legs per se...but there are lots of reasons that visual effects are used to erase limbs in movies." Be alert to the latest news.

Focusing on camera tracking, basic plate projection, masking and particle & lens flare plugins, Hashi demonstrates three levels of difficulty approaching how to erase the top part of his body while keeping his legs moving around in After Effects. Many tools from Red Giant Complete were used to help create the effect including Trapcode Particular, which was primarily used to create the magical particles coming the "magical wand" seen in the video that was used to diminish Hashi into a pair of legs. Other tools used included plugins from Magic Bullet Suite and VFX Suite. In the last 10 minutes of the tutorial, Hashi creates a CG version of half-dad by utilizing Maxon Cinema 4D and Adobe's Mixamo.
