RSSearch® Patient Registry Surpasses 25,000 Patient Cases Using Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy/Stereotactic Radiosurgery

The Radiosurgery Society (RSS), a non-profit organization of medical professionals dedicated to advancing the science and clinical practice of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and radiosurgery (SRS), announced today that its RSSearch® Patient Registry has surpassed 25,000 patient cases treated with SRS/SBRT. The breadth of patient data entered into the multi-institutional registry makes it by far the largest and most robust live database of its kind in the field of SRS/SBRT managed by a professional medical society.

"The RSSearch Registry is a gold mine of data, diligently gathered by dedicated providers across the globe, to provide valuable insight into real-world outcomes of SRS/SBRT treatments. This is exemplified by the significant outcome studies published from this data. For instance, our paper "Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for Liver Metastasis" has been reported as one of the top 3 most cited articles by the Journal of Radiation Oncology since 2018, providing useful data for patients and providers on the usefulness of SBRT in difficult situations," stated Anand Mahadevan, MD, Professor and Chairman, Radiation Oncology at Geisinger Health, Geisinger Cancer Institute, Danville, PA.

The RSSearch Patient Registry is an observational registry established to standardize data collection from patients treated with SRS/SBRT. It was initially conceptualized and designed in 2005 by a Clinical Advisory Board comprised of radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, medical oncologists and medical physicists to provide a method to collect standardized data on the use of SRS/SBRT treatment practices and outcomes to help determine the most effective clinical use of SRS/SBRT.

"Having a comprehensive resource such as RSSearch, which includes both clinical and radiation planning data points has enabled our faculty and residents work on several projects some of which have yielded very interesting findings," commented Madhur Garg, MD, Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology, Director of Montefiore-Einstein's Proton Therapy Program and Co-Director of Stereotactic Radiation Therapy Program at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY.

Data from the RSSearch Patient Registry has fueled 15 publications to date, including a recent publication by Raj Singh et al in the July 2019 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Oncology titled, "Clinical Outcomes Following Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) for Stage I Medically-Inoperable Small-Cell Lung Carcinoma: A Multi-Institutional Analysis from the RSSearch Patient Registry."

"The RSSea rch® Patient Registry has enabled Sir Charles Gairdner hospital to collect clinical data for SRS/SBRT patients treated at our facility in Australia and has allowed clinicians and research staff to analyse patient and treatment data and to link this with patient-reported outcomes and treatment results. We have already examined our experience treating patients with localised prostate cancer and have published results. Participating in the Registry has also provided the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of our local patient management practices and helped us develop data-driven treatment guidelines. The process has been a huge help in working towards prospective clinical trials," stated Tammy Corica, PhD, Clinical Trials Manager, Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials & Research Unit, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Nedlands, Australia.

The RSSearch database collects information including patient demographics, lesion characteristics, treatment practices and outcome information including local control, disease progression, survival, toxicity and patient-reported quality of life information. Aggregate data analysis has resulted in several publications on clinical outcomes for radiosurgery treatment of lung tumors, liver metastases, metastatic brain tumors, recurrent head and neck cancer and prostate cancer.

The RSSearch Registry is managed by the RSS and the RSSearch Clinical Advisory Committee, made up of professionals involved in the management and care of patients treated with SRS/SBRT. The registry currently has 26 active sites and more than 80 trained users. Participation in the registry is voluntary and all centers treating patients with SRS/SBRT clinically are encouraged to participate. RSSearch is listed on ClinicalTrials.gov (Identifier (NCT number): NCT01885299).

Interested centers should contact Jan Jenkins, RN, Clinical Program Manager at the Radiosurgery Society at jjenkins@therss.org.

Triple W Adds Web Dashboard to DFree Pro – First Wearable Device for Incontinence for Use by Senior Care Providers

Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, today announced that DFree® Pro, the first wearable for urinary incontinence, features a new web-based dashboard for monitoring patient data on a browser running on a desktop or laptop computer. Now care professionals can monitor their patients' urinary status at a glance using either the DFree Pro app on their smartphone or tablet or via the DFree Pro web dashboard on a desktop or laptop computer. DFree stands for "diaper-free" and helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. DFree Pro is designed for use by hospitals, skilled nursing and senior care communities. DFree Pro is currently used in over 500 senior care communities in Japan, Europe and the U.S. Since 2017.

DFree Pro is a non-invasive wearable device that monitors the bladder with an ultrasound sensor and sends notifications to a caregiver's smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer when their patients need to go to the bathroom via the DFree Pro companion app or the web dashboard. The app and dashboard can track multiple patients on a single screen so the caregiver will know which patients need toileting care. DFree Pro pairs with a WiFi base station to upload a patient's urination status to the cloud to enable remote monitoring by physicians, nurses and professional care providers.

The device is designed primarily for seniors and people with a disability who suffer from loss of bladder control. DFree Pro can also significantly reduce the burden for caregivers who need to provide bathroom assistance. Based on results from deploying DFree Pro in senior care communities, use of DFree Pro contributed to 30 percent reduction in overall care time provided and 50 percent reduction in cost of diapers and pads used. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide (including 25 million Americans).

"DFree Pro has been helpful in obtaining assessment of our residents," said Masumi Tatsuno RN, CM who works at Umenoki Gardens Senior Home in Union City, Calif. "Now we can better understand the intervals between bathroom visits and amount of accumulated urine which enables us to provide more timely care."

"DFree Pro makes it easy for caregivers to quickly get a read on their patients' urinary status whether they're using a smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer," said Atsushi Nakanishi, Founder and CEO for Triple W. "Caregivers can anticipate each patient's needs resulting in improved quality of care for the patient while simultaneously improving care efficiency and decreasing the number of diapers needed."

Availability & Pricing
DFree Pro is available in the U.S. Senior care communities and hospitals may rent DFree Pro for a $100/month subscription per device. Triple W also offers a free 30-day trial option for approved senior care communities and hospitals. DFree Pro includes: a DFree device, USB charging cable, AC adapter and two WiFi base stations. The DFree Pro companion app may be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play. The app supports iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBook) running iOS version 10 or later and Android devices (phones, tablets and laptops) running Android 4.4 or later. Iuvo Logistics in the top 500 of the Inc. 5000 List

Inc. magazine recently revealed that Iuvo Logistics LLC made its Inc. 5000 debut at No. 310 on its annual Inc. 5000 list. This list is the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy's most dynamic segment — its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino's Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

"This recognition from Inc. magazine validates the premise and values upon which our company was founded," Iuvo co-Chief Executive Officer David White said. "It's how we came to select our company name, Iuvo - the Latin word meaning 'to aid and assist.' We take the meaning of our name and our business mission seriously. Based on our rapid, sustainable growth, our expanding circle of regular customers also appreciates Iuvo's commitment to our core principles."

Iuvo co-Chief Executive Officer James Dowd explained further: "The Iuvo team, having worked at large global corporations, realized that small-to-mid-market-sized companies were critically under served by the logistics industry. We have created a unique company with a defined approach that leverages technology and the entrepreneurial spirit. Our strategy focuses on providing exceptional work experiences for our staff and drivers and servicing customers that are within 550 miles of our locations and customers. This allows us to provide reliable competitive pricing with a stable reliable service." Be alert to read related news.

Based in Dayton, Ohio with facilities in Chicago (IL), Memphis (TN), Jackson (TN) and Erlanger (KY), Iuvo's rapidly-expanding fleet consists of food-grade dry vans, flatbed trailers for the steel industry and roller bed trailers for the airfreight industry. The seven-year-old company is disrupting the trucking and logistics sector in the Midwest. "Small businesses generally receive basic transaction level service from transportation companies," White said. "Most 3PL suppliers don't have the capacity to identify continuous improvement opportunities or look for ways to streamline supply-chains benefiting their clients. We identified this and developed a solution; this is why customers choose Iuvo. In addition to transportation services, we provide consultative solutions and a TMS community-platform to run a business."

Dowd added: "Our objective is to use our logistics sector and distribution experience along with technology to elevate the level of service our customers receive. We aid and assist our clients' ability to increase their profitability by improving their logistics solutions and efficiency."

Iuvo also invests heavily in human capital. Drivers are compensated with regular salaries to foster stability and reliability. The company also provides the training and resources needed to ensure the drivers operate at peak efficiency and safety is always a top consideration. "The men and women who work with us are our first priority. They are responsible for our vehicles and our clients' cargo," White said.
