Horn® Enables ‘May is MIDI Month’ Webinars on MIDI 2.0 for The MIDI Association

Horn® (https://www.horn.co) today announced that it is providing the communications technology to MIDI.org for a series of 'May is MIDI Month' webinars focused on MIDI 2.0 beginning May 4th, 2019. Horn is a unique technology for web conferencing that includes audio, video, chat and more. MIDI.org has been using Horn to engage with their 18,000 member base in live panels as well as for leadership communications for several years.

The 'May is MIDI Month' webinars will take place at https://www.midi.org/live and they are being recorded and available for later viewing.

https://www.midi.org/live is a Horn channel.

For MIDI.org, Horn provided an easily-integrated website widget that allows for webinars with dozens of panelists and thousands of viewers and listeners that is easily managed. Of interest to audio, video and broadcast professionals and musicians (MIDI.org's member base) is that each presenters audio track and video channel is recorded as discrete and separate files and uploaded directly to the channel owners' cloud storage, allowing for clean and effortless post-production of presentations and seminars.

"The easy web implementation, in addition to Horn's very high audio quality, low data bandwidth usage and discrete individual channel recording has made our implementation fast and painless," said Athan Billias, Digital Marketing Strategy Manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, MIDI Manufacturers Association Board Member, and Member of The MIDI Association advisory board. "We look forward to putting Horn's scalability and panel functionality to the test as we expand our use beyond meetings to mass MIDI education and creator sessions with many presenters and potentially thousands of audience members."

Lawrence T. Levine, Horn's CEO said, "We've engineered Horn to provide functions audio engineers will treasure – such as the native ability to record individual channels for each panelist on a multi-presenter session – when they have to mix down for syndication."

Prom Season is Also Giving Season - Hallak Cleaners Joins The Johnson Public Library in Giving Back

On April 6th, 2019, the Johnson Public Library held a special event featuring over a thousand donated formal gowns on their way to prom. Unfortunately, a week before their big debut the library experienced a slight issue. Some of the gowns suffered slight water damage. More info here.

To remediate the situation, the library staff knew they could count on Hallak Cleaners. The cleaners' restoration team are experts in handling situations such as water damage. In fact, they are a trusted name among insurance carriers for post-construction, fire and smoke damage as well. The damaged gowns were saved and ready for their night out - and the restoration services were donated compliments of Hallak.

About twenty gowns required a thorough cleaning or restoration. All water-damaged dresses were thoroughly inspected, spot-cleaned, cleaned, finished and then a final inspection. Several of the gowns' journey at Hallak were documented. By saving these garments, it means that they were sure to find a happy home soon enough.

Prom season is a special time for so many teens. For some, it can be a stressful time due to money and outside obligations; however, prom night should be that one special moment where a teen gets to be a teen. The Johnson Public Library provided a wonderful solution for teens needing a little help from the community. The library reached out to nine other local libraries to be part of the collection process. Other participating libraries were Closter, Demarest, Glen Rock, Old Tappan, Paramus, Ramsey, Township of Washington, Waldwick and Wyckoff. Read latest news here.

After the event, Hallak Cleaners checked in with Laurie Meeske, Community Relations and Outreach Librarian (Johnson Public Library). She stated that nearly fifty young ladies attended – and everyone left with something. Along with prom dresses, there were donated shawls, purses and jewelry to choose from. Some of the restored gowns found a new home that day. Hallak is happy to hear that they were able to be part of such an important event. Operation Prom collected any remaining dresses; they will continue to be offered at future giveaway events throughout New Jersey. This year's Operation Prom was a success and the future looks bright.

Water Pumps Direct Reveals the Ultimate Guide to the Best Water Pumps of 2019

Water Pumps Direct has revealed their highly-anticipated lists of the Best Water Pumps of 2019.

Water Pumps Direct currently lists nearly 650 water pump models and published more than 3,600 pump reviews from actual customers.

Using an advanced algorithm, Water Pumps Direct generates instant and accurate grades for all of the water pumps on the site. Online shoppers also enjoy real-time updates through comprehensive lists of the highest-rated water pumps on the market today.

"Water pumps have so many features today, it's difficult to choose which are the most important for your needs," said Jim Owiecki, water pump expert at WaterPumpsDirect.com. "But whether your basement is under water, your sprinkler pump system dies, or your well pump suddenly quits on you, there isn't time for weeks of researching online—especially when you need the pump now."

"Thankfully, our lists are very comprehensive, so you can quickly discover everything you need to know about the top water pumps in any category." According to Owiecki, Water Pumps Direct's lists are the best source for 2019 pump rankings for three specific reasons:

1. Three "Best-of" Lists for Each Category
Water Pumps Direct publishes three individualized lists for each type of water pump. Site visitors can sort water pumps according to how well a product sells (best-selling), how favorably owners review a product (top-rated), or models that experts recommend based on testing and customer feedback. Separate lists are available for each type of water pump, ranging from small submersible pumps to industrial PTO pumps.

According to Jim, "There's no better way to sort your choices quickly and cut through the clutter on the internet."

2. Real-Time Updates
Water Pumps Direct updates its lists in real-time, unlike other "best-seller" lists on the internet which are updated once per year. That way, shoppers will always see a current list of what's popular in 2019, and not have to worry about selecting a model that has since been recalled or discontinued. These instantly-updated ratings are very valuable for shoppers looking for the "best of the best" today, and not 6 months ago.

"You can find all kinds of information on the internet these days," Owiecki explained. "However, our site is the best resource because we aggregate the most useful product information available. You could spend hours researching every type of pump on the market, or you could spend 10 minutes on our site discovering the perfect pump for your individual needs."

3. Free Access
The goal of Water Pumps Direct's Best-of guide is to educate shoppers with free information that doesn't require visitors to sign up or subscribe to access. There are hours of reading available for information on all types of water pumps available today. Read here.

"You just have to choose how you would use a pump, where you would use it, how much water you need to move, and how quickly you need it moved," Owiecki continued. "Our expert insights are aimed to help you prepare to make a sensible purchase on a water pump that won't quit on you, and one you won't regret."

PAINWeekEnd in Jacksonville, Fla., Offers CE/CME Education to Meet the Challenges of Opioid Prescribing Regulation

PAINWeekEnd on June 1 at the Jacksonville Marriott, 4670 Salisbury Road in Florida, will be a timely full day program providing busy clinicians and allied healthcare practitioners with 6.0 hours of relevant, practical instruction in the management of chronic pain.

Florida's Controlled Substances Bill, containing a range of provisions to address the opioid public health crisis in the state, became effective last year. Concern over balancing regulation of opioid prescribing with addressing the interests of patients with pain led the Florida Department of Health to launch an information campaign subsequent to the bill's enactment.

A press release announcing the "Take Control" campaign said in part, "The department encourages patients to discuss all options with their treating physician, so they may work together to pursue a course of treatment which manages their pain, anxiety, and provides quality of life."

The PAINWeekEnd curriculum is designed to enhance the readiness of primary care providers to devise and implement multimodal approaches to pain management.

Veteran PAINWeek and PAINWeekEnd faculty speaker David Glick, DC, DAAPM, CPE, FASPE, commented, "Education is vitally important, not just for healthcare providers. We must engage patients, to insure better safety and efficacy. Providing the patient with basic understanding of what to expect from their treatment goes a long way."

At PAINWeekEnd Jacksonville, Dr. Glick will present his courses Pain Pathways Made Simple, and Clinical Pearls: Unraveling the Secrets of Imaging Studies.

He concludes, "When practitioners are armed with patient engagement strategies, there is a greater tendency for patients to feel as if a burden has been lifted from their shoulders. They are able to work with their healthcare provider for better, more effective clinical outcomes."

Other courses to be offered at PAINWeekEnd Jacksonville include Relax, All Antispasmodics are the Same… Right?; Osteoarthritis Pain: Past, Present, and Future; Ketamine: Not Just for Horses; Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain: Evaluating Treatment Options. Commercially supported activities—addressing a range of product, disease state, and medical information topics—will also be presented.

For more information about this or other regional conferences, and to register for $129, go to the PAINWeekEnd website. Bonus: PAINWeekEnd registrants may register for the 2019 PAINWeek National Conference, September 3-7, in Las Vegas, for $200 off the regular online published price.

PAINWeekEnd is provided by Global Education Group.

VetStem Biopharma Shares the Story of Atlas Who Was Successfully Treated with VetStem Cell Therapy by Dr. Colter Negranti

Standing at 16.2 hands, Atlas is on the large side for a Quarter Horse. He and his owner keep busy too, participating in a drill team and barrel racing, among other activities. When loping around a corner in late 2017, Atlas tripped and partially tore his right front suspensory ligament. He went from being a busy horse to only being able to walk. Fortunately Atlas' owner, Kelly, sought the opinion of her veterinarian, Dr. Colter Negranti of Paso Robles Equine.

Dr. Negranti has been utilizing VetStem's services since 2013 and recommended treatment with VetStem Regenerative Cell Therapy. In December 2017, approximately one month after his injury, Dr. Negranti collected fat tissue from Atlas' tailhead. The fat was packaged and shipped to the VetStem laboratory in San Diego, California. VetStem lab technicians processed the fat to extract Atlas' stem and regenerative cells and create injectable stem cell doses. One dose was shipped back to Dr. Negranti for injection directly into the lesion approximately 48 hours after the fat collection. The remaining cells were banked for potential future use.

According to Kelly, Atlas underwent months of rehabilitation after his stem cell injection. Eventually, she began to work him harder and again participated in a number of activities. Though she was nervous about adding the extra work, Atlas stayed as sound as ever and, according to Kelly he, "never took a lame step!" Kelly stated, "Using stem cells was the best decision we could've made…It's now been [over] a year since his injury, and we've started light jumping and cow work in addition to the other things we do, and he has stayed sound and happy! This just cements my belief that using stem cell [therapy] was the step that changed everything, and we can't be more grateful that we did it."

We recently checked in on Atlas and Kelly reported that he's still doing well and gearing up for a big barrel race next month. Good luck Atlas! Continue reading.

Stem cells are regenerative cells that can differentiate into many tissue types, reduce pain and inflammation, help to restore range of motion, and stimulate regeneration of tendon, ligament and joint tissues. In a clinical case series using VetStem Regenerative Cell Therapy in horses with tendon and ligament and joint injuries, it was found that VetStem Regenerative Cell Therapy helped these horses to return to full work or to the activity level that the owner desired.
