Former Mortgage Bankers Association President and CEO Joins ProxyPics as Senior Strategic Advisor

David Stevens – the former commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration and President of the Mortgage Bankers Association has joined ProxyPics as a Senior Strategic Advisor.

ProxyPics has developed a patented platform to obtain real-time photos of any property within the US in a matter of hours and can be combined with custom questionnaires and a wide range of valuation applications to dramatically improve efficiency of time sensitive information to make lending and risk based decisions.

Stevens led the Single-Family Business at Freddie Mac as the senior Vice President. In 2009 he was asked to serve on the Obama administration and was confirmed as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner until 2011. He acquired the CEO position of the Mortgage Bankers Association until his retirement in September 2018.

Previous companies Stevens has helped manage before his retirement in 2018 include; Wells Fargo and The Long & Foster Companies.

National Cyber League to Host Capture the Flag at Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) Conference

The National Cyber League (NCL) earned the distinction of hosting the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition at the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) conference, March 28 to 30, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

WiCyS brings together female students and professionals to share information, experiences and knowledge while networking, learning and mentoring one another. NCL puts students in virtual gyms to tackle problems and challenges that they would likely encounter in a job. They are trained, assessed and given reports based on their skill level in order to improve. Anyone who is registered for the conference has exclusive early access to the NCL Spring Season Training Gymnasium, which helps prepare and train those pursuing a career in cybersecurity.

Once at the conference, all attendees will have a code to enter the CTF that runs the entirety of the event. Challenges will be tailored to the WiCyS community in an effort to familiarize competitors with the opportunities offered by WiCyS. Students, educators and recruiters also will learn about the many benefits of becoming involved with NCL. The top 25 student scores will be reflected on a leaderboard, and three students will receive prizes (such as a 2020 WiCyS conference scholarship, 2019 NCL Spring Season registration codes, NCL swag and more) at the closing ceremonies.

"We are excited to partner with NCL and are especially thrilled about all the work they have done to ensure cybersecurity women role models are highlighted in all their activities," said Dr. Janell Straach, WiCyS chairman of the board.

The CTF will give students the opportunity to deal with real-world scenarios, which more accurately gives them a taste of the working world and helps them master complicated skills. That is NCL's entire focus and goal.

"For me, the partnership between NCL and WiCyS is priceless. These two organizations really helped shape my career when I was a student. Now I can share my passion for the NCL games as one of the most effective learning tools that helped me find my voice," said Kaitlyn "CryptoKait" Bestenheider, NCL chief player ambassador. "If we can help one female student gain confidence in herself, I think the partnership will have been a success. That being said, I think anyone who tries it will have an amazing time. If you get stuck, you can always come train with me at the NCL Social CTF Village."
