Spl.yt Announces Participation in RISE Event BETA Program

Spl.yt, an e-commerce blockchain protocol that serves as an infrastructure to create a public global inventory system and affiliate network, has been chosen to take part in the RISE event's BETA program in Hong Kong, June 9th to June 12th. RISE is produced by the team behind Web Summit, Europe's largest tech conference. For the selection process, RISE conducts a round of voting in which growth potential, impact, product and team, pitch quality, and "cool factor" are all taken into consideration. Spl.yt Co-Founders, Cyrus Taghehchian and Jason Civalleri, will host an exhibition booth on July 11th. The booth will include interactive demos of the Spl.yt Alpha, showcasing a globalized inventory on the blockchain.

In the current e-commerce landscape, sellers must manually update listings across multiple marketplaces while buyers must search multiple marketplaces for product availability and best prices. The Spl.yt protocol enables a globalized inventory in which listings are shared across marketplaces and automatically updated when items are purchased.

The event was a fundraiser for Boys Hope Girls Hope (BHGH) Illinois. Trebels, who serves on the board of BHGH, and his wife Lee Trebels were joined for the winetasting by several close friends including Larry and Dee Van Someren, Rich and Peggy Hart, Judi Gorman, and Randy Thrall. All are present in the released photograph.

Rudy Trebels has served for many years on the Governing Board of the Illinois BHGH chapter which helps academically capable and motivated children in need to meet their full potential by providing value-centered, family-like homes and education through college.

Rudy and his wife Lee are past recipients of the prestigious "Heart of Gold Award", one of the most coveted humanitarian awards in the Chicago metropolitan area, awarded each year by Boys Hope Girls Hope of Illinois to an elite selection of donors. The award honored Lee and Rudy for years of extraordinary leadership and contributions to the organization's charity work, fundraising, event management, and mentorship that have substantially advanced the Boys Hope Girls Hope mission.

Girl Up Announces Partnership with BNY Mellon with Aim to Close the Gender Gap in STEM

Girl Up, a leadership development initiative, today announced it has partnered with BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services, to launch STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs and trainings across the United States. With support from BNY Mellon, Girl Up– has created a STEM curriculum –in partnership with Carnegie Science Center – and will hold a series of boot camps focused on inspiring STEM solutions to global social problems. The partnership will also introduce Girl Up's first-ever semester-long STEM "challenge," which will aim to ignite a passion to use STEM for social good across Girl Up's 2,200 Clubs in 103 countries. The partnership programming will expose girls to STEM careers, as well as showcase female STEM role models to encourage girls to foster their interests in applying STEM solutions to real-world issues.

As the first large-scale project Girl Up has undertaken to engage their girl leaders in STEM, the goal of the program is to educate, inspire, and engage girls in STEM for social good. The curriculum will introduce them to and familiarize them with design thinking, scientific method, and problem-solving skills fundamental to STEM fields, and beyond.
