Martha Stewart Studio Props Auction a Stunning Success for Kaminski Auctions

Fans of Martha Stewart flocked to the Martha Stewart Studio Props sale at Kaminski Auctions of Beverly, Massachusetts this past weekend. Many fans, new to the experience of buying at auction, enthusiastically bid on over 1,000 lots of Martha's studio props on May 5 & 6 2018.

Kitchenware, garden urns and décor items, many handpicked by Martha Stewart were auctioned off in part to benefit the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Hospital. Seven truckloads, more than 5,000 individual pieces from the lifestyle guru's television shows were brought to Beverly, Massachusetts by Kaminski Auctions and organized for the sale.

Martha graciously signed a few of the more important items on offer and those pieces brought considerably more than they would have otherwise. A signed antique toboggan used on a Christmas show was the top-selling lot fetching over $600. A vintage painted wooden potting bench sold for $550, and a Boo's butcher block tabl e brought $375.

Two sets of vintage enamel cookware in the classic Martha Stewart blue color sold for $350 each plus buyer's premium and several signed vintage cutting boards sold in the $250-$350 range. Many lots started at $25 with estimates in the $20 - $50 range. It's was a great opportunity for her fans to own a piece of the Martha Stewart Show history.

The festivities started on Thursday evening, May 3rd with a cocktail preview party for guests and press. The gallery was decorated in signature Martha Stewart style with dining tables set for a formal and casual dinner and vignettes set up displaying her many collections of garden items, botanical prints, milk glass, creamware, fiesta ware, jadeite, depression glass and so much more…

As one of the most influential and successful business women and authors in the world, Martha has shaped the tastes and decor of households around the globe. She has authored more than 90 books on cooking, decorating , and entertaining and her collections of cookbooks amassed over the years were separated into lots and were among the most popular items in the sale.

Frank Kaminski owner and auctioneer believes Kaminski Auctions was selected in part, to handle this auction because the company served as auctioneer for the Oprah Winfrey Collection when she redecorated her home in Santa Barbara, California several years ago.

Interest in the auction was overwhelming with reports appearing on all local television stations, local newspapers, a radio and television interview on the local CBS affiliate WBZ on the day of the auction. The press release was picked up by the Associated Press as well as on Page Six of the New York Post. Cooking magazines like Food and Wine ran the story as well as numerous design magazines and bloggers. After Martha posted the auction on Twitter Kaminski, saw a 300% increase in traffic to their site and most were new customers. Preview days and online bid ding registration were a clear indication of how big this event really would be.

With over 400 new bidders on KaminskiLIVE and many more on Live Auctioneers the auction had a 99% sell-through on all lots. Martha fans went away thrilled with their purchases.

Kaminski Auctions upcoming schedule includes a Baseball Memorabilia, Coin, and Stamp auction on Saturday, June 2nd and an outstanding collection of fine art, furniture and decorative art on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd Estates Auction. Aladtec Team Will Attend IACP Technology Conference, May 21-23 at Providence

As law enforcement agencies expand their use of technology to enhance services and solve crimes, representatives from Aladtec, Inc., will join an assembly of experts and exhibitors to offer advice and solutions during the International Association of Chiefs of Police Technology Conference, May 21-23.

Aladtec is a SaaS provider of scheduling and workforce management software to more than 200 police departments in cities like Eau Claire, Appleton, Scottsdale, Beloit, Provo, Dade City, and Tiverton.

During the IACP exhibition, Aladtec's director of business development Nate Davis and systems specialist Matt Zinnel will offer system demonstrations and answer questions about software's ability to schedule complex rotations, automate trades, manage overtime, and meet minimum staffing needs. Visit Davis and Zinnel at Booth #301.

With Aladtec, it's easy to store and retrieve contact information, certifications, and training dates. Supervisors can send e-mail or text messages to individuals, groups or all users immediately. Users can create, store and upload files to electronic forms.

The system has an optional time clock kiosk and meshes with a variety of payroll software systems. And officers love the fact it is accessible from any smartphone, tablet or desktop with internet access. A system log tracks all activity on the platform, providing airtight accountability.

This year's IACP theme -- Technology, Transparency, and Transformation -- focuses on how the law enforcement profession is utilizing technology to enhance services and communication and to transform agencies and communities. Aladtec's platform has been doing just that for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch centers since 2003.

Among conference speakers are Homeland Security Special Agent Matthew Swensen, who is in charge of the Cyber Intrusion Response Program for the Department of Homeland Security; Dr. Sean Malinowski, Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, and manages LAPD's Predictive Policing program; Chief Jonathan Lewin, who oversees the Bureau of Technical Services and serves as the Chief Information Officer for the Chicago Police Department; and Christina "CK" Kerley, a faculty member at Rutgers Business School for Exec Ed, who helps big firms focus on "10+ tech of the next ten years".

Aladtec has some enthusiastic users in the law enforcement profession.

"Before Aladtec, we used an Excel spreadsheet for scheduling and tracking hours. It would take two to four hours depending on the number of overtime and training slips, plus many hours to create the schedule for each year," said Paul Adams, Deputy Chief of Police, Lincoln (IL) Police Dept.

"We were looking for something that was feature rich, but easy for our officers to use. Since implementing Aladtec, the process pretty much takes care of itself and I spend about 10 minutes on exporting data, so I have much more time to spend on other responsibilities," Adams said.

"With Aladtec, we can see part-time staff's avail ability for any given shift which saves us time and effort. This ability allows us to move and change shifts to prevent overtime. Before we couldn't tell when someone was going to go into overtime hours. I believe switching to Aladtec saves me 15 to 20 hours per week in time spent scheduling compared to the old method, so I'm gaining as much as two weeks of time every month!", wrote Sgt. Jeffrey Hammond, Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Geneseo, NY.

Aladtec, Inc., is headquartered in River Falls, Wis. For more information about their affordable program, call 888-749-5550 or visit Aladtec.com to try a free demonstration.

Out Now: Vorwerk & Traveler’s “Go With Me” (VRWRK)

Optimistic. Vibrant. Soaring. As cherry blossoms explode in bloom in the Northern Hemisphere, spring gives way to summer and soon this season's pop anthems will radiate from open car windows out onto the streets. The first pop anthem of summer 2018 will surely be Maarten Vorwerk & Traveler's "Go With Me," out now on VRWRK.

The Original Mix of "Go With Me" doubles as the Radio Edit clocking-in at a clean 03:21 with the kind of perfectly built song only a hit-maker like Maarten Vorwerk can create. An inviting 4/4 beat gives way to a female vocal evocative of Sia's in its phrasing. Traveler and Vorwerk's spare, dissonant horns are a funky build-up to the chorus. This mid-tempo song is easily digested, with a commercial hook that hints at a progressive-house ancestry. The Extended Mix naturally takes more time to arrive at the vocals, and this edit works better in a nightclub setting with its generous intro and outro. The Phynx Remix feels a shade ed gier, with a slightly faster tempo and melodic synthesizers as backing chord progressions. A supremely-distorted bassline acts as an aural sneer, a knowing nod to the cool kids who devour the song whole.

About Maarten Vorwerk

Maarten Vorwerk is a prolific Dutch electronic dance music producer with more than 400 tracks in his discography. He is currently based in Aruba and produces under a variety of aliases. Vorwerk is well known among the global elite of today's top DJs and producers and he's the force behind several massive clubland hits for big-name DJs. Earning recognition in the early-aughts with hardstyle productions under his Vorwerk and Jeckyll & Hyde pseudonyms, Vorwerk later veered into the more commercial side of dance music known as EDM as a ghost producer for other clubland stars. In 2007, Vorwerk scored his first "#1" hit in the Netherlands and Poland with "Freefall" under his Jeckyll & Hyde moniker. Soon thereafter, Vorwerk achi eved his second "#1" hit in the Netherlands with the song, "Epic," a production with Quintino. A steady stream of Beatport and iTunes "Top 10" and "#1"-charting releases have brand-name DJs beating a path to Vorwerk's studio door.

About Traveler

Traveler is a one-man electronic music band comprised of the American producer Zander Tron. Traveler's live performances take listeners on a journey of emotion through sound and cutting-edge visuals. Established in 2010 and currently based out of Santa Barbara, California, Traveler has opened for major headlining acts such as Flume, Seven Lions, Duke Dumont, Odesza, Autograf, Emancipator, Pretty Lights, Bob Moses, Lee Burridge and others. Pacific City Retail Store, Cariloha, is Celebrating One Year of Bringing Eco-Friendly Clothing and Bedding Made from Bamboo to Orange County Community

Out of the thousands of businesses that get started each year in the United States, only around 20% of them survive past their first year of operation. Hitting that mark and laying down plans for expansion is something worth celebrating, especially in the retail industry.

That's how Cariloha store owners Kevin and Lisa Long are looking at it, and they want to usher in many more years of growth with the local community who made their first year so successful.

"Come celebrate at Cariloha Huntington Beach on May 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. and enjoy live music by local band, Funk Shui Planet, along with refreshments and exclusive sales and drawings," said Lisa Long, Cariloha store owner. "We wouldn't be where we're at today without this community, and we want to thank them for all their support."

Guests will also receive a free bamboo lei just for stopping by the store, and a free pair of Cariloha's signature bamboo socks with purchase of three pairs.

"Our first year as Cariloha store owners was amazing," said Lisa. "We learned so much about business ownership and about this earth-friendly bamboo company. Plus, we've met so many great people and have had the privilege of getting to know even more local residents because they keep coming back."

Cariloha visitors love feeling the luxuriously soft difference of Cariloha's entire line of e co-friendly bamboo products, including mattresses, pillows and sheets, along with men's and women's shirts, shorts, socks, underwear, fitness wear and more – all made from bamboo fabrics.

The name 'Cariloha' comes from a combination of 'Cari' for Caribbean and 'loha' for Aloha from Hawaii: the Cariloha bamboo concept was inspired by the breezy, relaxed lifestyle of the islands. Cariloha is the only multi-store retailer in the world to provide an entire store experience that's completely merchandised with products made from eco-friendly bamboo fabrics. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable, renewable resources on the planet and produces more oxygen than a comparable number of trees.

The Longs first experienced the softness of Cariloha bamboo bedding and clothing while visiting the Cariloha store in Las Vegas. They were impressed by the product quality and the corporate values and, after 30 years of corporate jobs, decided they wanted to do som ething completely different like opening their own store.

"We're really proud of the fact that we've been able to provide beautiful, 'soft, cool, clean, and green' products to so many people," said Lisa. "Our customers are so pleased with the bamboo products that the majority of them either call or come back just to tell us how happy they are. That means the world to us!"

Cariloha bamboo fabrics offer unique benefits. They're 3 degrees cooler than cotton and wick moisture away from the skin. They also repel odors and allergens naturally without any harmful chemicals. Above all, bamboo fabrics are unbelievably soft compared to luxury fabrics like cashmere and silk but at a fraction of the price.

Cariloha has been rapidly expanding its international and domestic presence for the past 10 years now with 20+ corporately owned and 40+ independently owned stores in 16 countries. Other stores are found in St. Thomas, Barbados, Mexico, Grand Cay man, Jamaica, Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Bonaire, Belize and various cities throughout the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii.

About Cariloha
Driven by a comfort and eco-conscious lifestyle, Cariloha joins the Style of the Caribbean with the Spirit of Aloha to provide the best in natural luxury. Since 2007, the brand has grown to become the only multi-store retailer in the world to provide an entire store experience that's completely merchandised with products made of eco-friendly viscose from bamboo. By turning self-replenishing bamboo fields into crazy-soft bamboo fabrics, Cariloha offers an exclusive collection of bedding, apparel, active wear, bath goods, and accessories made from soft, cool, clean and green bamboo. Inspired by the essence and energy of the islands, Cariloha blends style and self-expression into every piece of clothing and bedding it makes. Special care is taken to drape customers in soft, comfortable, naturally b reathable bamboo fabrics that leave them experiencing tranquil days in paradise time and time again. Thanks to an ever-growing, rich supply of bamboo, Cariloha has a growing fleet of stores in 16 countries offering its proprietary bamboo apparel, bedding and bath goods and enjoying the quality, soft touch, and green 'footprint' of this renewable resource.
