Women of Global Change Brings Tech and Business Leaders Together To Serve a Las Vegas Elementary School and The Metro Police Department

The Women of Global Change hosted its first annual national conference in Las Vegas over the last three days. Conference speakers and attendees included Marcos Campos, the head of AI for Autonomous Systems at Microsoft, Larry Namer, the founder of E! Network and CEO of Metan, Elizabeth McCormick, motivational speaker and the first female Black Hawk pilot, and Frank Shankwitz, one of the founders of the Make a Wish foundation and the subject of the newly released biopic, Wish Man.

WGC is an international non-profit decorated with four consecutive White House awards and commendations from the United States Senate for their work to better the lives of women and children at home and abroad. Their projects range from their creation of an infant treatment center in Honduras to the refurbishing of safe houses for sex trafficking victims in Atlanta, Georgia.

Conference participants collaborated, got their hands dirty, and put together an outdoor classroom for the Children of Lewis E. Rowe Elementary School in Las Vegas where 94% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Executives and thought leader rarely do the hard labor of charity work, but it is the mission of WGC Founder Shellie Hunt to challenge those who have achieved success to reach out their hand to those in need.

On the last day of the conference, WGC pledged the majority of their proceeds from their auction items to support the Las Vegas Metro Police Department's Santa Cops program which donates holiday gifts to children in need and the remainder will go to the organization's various international humanitarian projects.
