Digible Welcomes David Lerchbacher As Chief Data Officer

Digital marketing agency Digible, Inc. Recently announced the hiring of David Lerchbacher, affectionately known as Lerch, as Chief Data Officer. Lerch joins Digible with over 20 years of experience in data and consumer analytics, financial planning and analysis, and marketing strategy and attribution. He will oversee Digible's data team, spearheading product innovation and providing overall agency support.

According to Lerchbacher, his mission is clear:

World Alzheimer’s Month Addresses Stigma Associated with Alzheimer’s and Dementia

A new report released by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) found someone in the world develops dementia every three seconds, with more than 50 million people living with dementia globally. Despite the prevalence of Alzheimer's and dementia in our society, those affected frequently find themselves tainted by the stigmas associated with the disease.

According to research conducted by ADI, 43% of survey respondents living with dementia report being avoided or shunned by those around them, while 57% of survey respondents feel they are treated unfairly and have difficulty making or keeping friends. Two-thirds of respondents also said others even joked about their dementia symptoms.

"Social isolation and loneliness is common among those living with Alzheimer's or dementia. But surprisingly, most of the time it is the stigma, and not the symptoms of the disease, that leads others to distance themselves from those living with the diagnosis," said Lakelyn Hogan, Gerontologist and Caregiver Advocate at Home Instead Senior Care. "When we all make a concerted effort to eliminate the stigma associated with these diseases, we can drastically improve the quality of life for those affected." Click here.

The negative impact of the stigma associated with Alzheimer's and other dementias is not just limited to the more than 50 million people across the globe living with the disease, but it also extends to those providing care, particularly their loved ones.     Invitation Homes to Award Scholarships to Students Pursuing Higher Education

    For many students, higher education means being away from the place they call home to pursue their dreams. Invitation Homes is launching the 2nd Annual There's No Place Like Home scholarship contest asking students what they take to college to make it feel like home.

    The contest asks high school seniors, college students, and students pursuing higher education or a vocational program to submit a thoughtful 800-word essay about what they are taking to school to make it feel like home and why it is important to them.

    The top four essays will be chosen and judged by an independent third-party panel. The winners will each receive $2,000 to use toward their education and will be featured on the Invitation Homes blog.

    "Pursuing higher education is exciting, but it can also be intimidating, and we at Invitation Homes understand how important feeling happy and safe in your home can be," said Dallas Tanner, president and chief executive officer of Invitation Homes. "We are once again encouraging students to share their stories about a special memento they take to college to help make that new environment feel like home."
